K.O.N.G Protocol

K.O.N.G Protocol by Barcelona Escape was the ninth stop on our escape room tour in Spain and a standout experience. Drawing strong inspiration from horror video games like Resident Evil and movies like the Alien franchise, the immersive atmosphere and sound design were exceptional—especially for fans of these genres. The puzzles were challenging on their own but felt even harder due to the tension and immersion the room creates. It is a new room that is only just over a year old, it combines well-designed puzzles with impressive experiential “wow” moments. The large space was used effectively, enhancing the overall experience. Highly recommended, especially for experienced players looking for an intense and memorable challenge!

Very cool room design but I felt that we were often lost on what to do next with the puzzles, which was frustrating. There is a lot going on in the space, which included some very fun actor interactions and a few, kind of intense, physical aspects that I thought were exciting and enjoyable, but I can see where others might not. I think they are still developing this game and hope that clearer signposting will make for a better flow with the puzzles and an overall more satisfying game. However, if you are into set design and tech, it's a cool game to check out just for that.

This room has some of the best set design & atmosphere that I’ve seen. The game play is very task based with some cool special effects, unique moments, and even story twists. My group felt the game needed a bit more sign posting (although the lack of sign posting seems to be popular in the region), as well as a bit of added safety at some points during the game. But overall this room will be a new must-do for enthusiasts!

🦍 A very ambitious, and memorable game! 🧩 The flow of the game and some of the puzzles felt a little disjointed in the beginning, but improved significantly as the game progressed. There were so many cool tasks and enjoyable interactions that outshone the few issues I had. 🏃🏽‍♀️This game has both standard and unique physical tasks. I would definitely recommend wearing clothes you’re ok with getting dirty. ❤️ A must do while in Barcelona!
