The haunted tour company, Wickedly Terrifying Excursions, is excited to offer haunt enthusiasts tours to the Grove Theater, a 1920s abandoned movie theater where, Cinema 7, is the last theater standing. While the rest of the Grove Theater was set to be demolished, a group called TFC has pushed to save the theater, to which because of their efforts, tours to the Grove Theater can begin.

This was one of my most favorite escape rooms. I highly recommend completing this room with more than 2 people. We completed this room but with minutes to spare.

awesome horror vibes without any cheap jumpscares!! loved all the music changes throughout and had some extremely unique and creative puzzles that required significant collaboration with our group of 4. only needed 1 hint and it was near the beginning for one of the locks codes — all of the actual multi-part puzzles were fun and extremely intuitive, but not necessarily ‘easy’! escaped with 5 minutes left :)

Overall, a really good room, that I think really deserves its spot on TERPEKA 2025! We had Julian, who debriefed us and gave us hints as we needed, which were most definitely needed. The room was decently difficult, where I actually had a bit of trouble getting through it! I usually escape rooms with 10-20 mins left, and this one left us with less than 10! The set design was definitely the most phenomenal part, really putting you in the setting, with music and props to match! Loved the room, definitely excited to see all the others at their location.

Overall, the puzzles were surprisingly alright. I did expect a little bit more from them, but still a great room! Puzzles weren’t bad at all, just nothing too spectacular. Especially in comparison to how good the set design was!
The set design was so cool! Honestly one of the coolest parts of the room, and definitely my favorite part of the entire experience!
Loved having Julian as our GM! Bro was cool!

This is by far one of the best rooms I have ever done! Fantastic set. Creative and engaging story. Excellent use of technology. I don’t want to spoil anything about the experience so just go and escape it for yourself!

I was very interested in this game because of the reviews and awards. On the positive side, i did enjoy the story. It was creepy and interesting. However I cannot give it a glowing review. While it is interesting, it is aging, the game master was not attentive and the location was difficult to navigate.

Cinema 7 starts you off in a small movie theater lobby, where you're part of a haunted walking tour. It doesn't take long before you realize there's a much darker story hiding inside this abandoned cinema. Our game master did a great job explaining how the locks worked beforehand and pointing out a few things to watch for so we wouldn't waste time during the game. The puzzle flow is linear, which let our entire group work through everything together. Even without a live actor, the atmosphere was creepy enough that we kept expecting someone to jump out at any moment. The only downside was that the speakers in the first room were a little quiet. When we asked for clarification on one of the puzzles, it was difficult to hear the game master. My favorite puzzle involved the film reel and projector! It fit the theme perfectly and was really satisfying to solve. There's also a fun crawling room challenge that only one person in your group needs to physically but will require some collaboration from two different levels! Of the rooms at Will to Escape, this was the one that stood out to us the most. We were also interested in trying Disappearance, but unfortunately they didn't have any time slots available on the day we visited. Can’t wait to come back!

A very solid, atmospheric, beautifully designed, and mostly enjoyable room that is only brought down from total greatness by how unintuitive a few too many puzzles are later in the game. On the surface this is one of the best looking and most uniquely designed layouts we’ve EVER seen for a room, and it’s full of neat surprises. Without spoiling anything, there are many awesome moments of awe and “wow” factors that you and your team will enjoy once things really get rolling. It’s absolutely the high point of the room. As far as puzzles and flow go, it has a pretty strong start, and as you progress, it keeps that momentum pretty consistent and the pacing also stays pretty uniform for the first half or so. The puzzles start out challenging without being frustrating, and they’re all really nicely in theme and build a sense of ominous dread. Great visuals, great sound design, all delightfully spooky and very creative. Unfortunately, it feels like somewhere along the way while designing the room, it got kind of messy and a bit disjointed. About halfway through, the pacing starts to hit what feels like a screeching halt, with puzzles going from inspired and intuitive, to a sudden difficulty ramp that is out of left field. Puzzles suddenly begin to have many details that are easily missed because they require items and progression lost in literal, total darkness (where there shouldn’t be any otherwise). We started needing one too many hints to keep the flow going. We’ve played a lot of rooms at this point and we were honestly surprised at just how many parts toward the end began to resemble a Gen 1 escape room’s logic. It felt like it became weirdly disjointed. We weren’t having an off day either as we had just played another room beforehand. And it didn’t help that this is a VERY physically active room, and the day we played, their air conditioning wasn’t working. This room got HOT. We were drenched in sweat by the end. I really wish I could give this a heart, but it’s still a very solid room that’s extremely unique and enjoyable, with much to appreciate and gawk at the sheer awesomeness of its design. Just make sure you absolutely bring your A game and are ready for a pretty physically active experience if you’re not prepared for it. With a few fine tweaks this would be an all time great. It’s instead just really good.

Probably the most disappointing aspect to the whole experience. A story/theme that’s so overdone in escape rooms

See above. Also puzzles do involve watching grainy footage and color based puzzles and loud communication to one another to solve properly.

If I wasn’t physically fit, I wouldn’t have. One of the more physically demanding experiences we’ve ever played
