Studio Escape is one of the best Creator for Escape Rooms. I recommend this room for English speaker. Unfortunatly, Japan's Escape Rooms are required you the skill of Japanese and Deep understanding of Japanese culture. We usually refer to escape rooms that also require Japanese language skills as escape rooms, and overseas those that only have physical gimmicks as the main feature are sometimes called Shanghai type.

Well dang schweetheart, I’ll tell ya color me impressed. Taking on the role of a (pretty terrible) private investigator, we travelled through this lovingly crafted game enjoying absolutely every second. What the crew at Studio Escape have created is truly something special. The mix of puzzles, signposting, humour, storyline and set design is something out of an enthusiasts dream. Everything made sense, the flow was immaculate, fun reveals and funny moments to be had around every twist and turn. I honestly don’t have a single knock on this room, it blew me out of the water. They also apparently allow longer than the hour time-slot if necessary, prioritising customer experience over amount of games throughout the day. Z was a ripper Game Master and was happy to answer any questions I had (and I had a lot), one of the best overall experiences I’ve had in an escape room.

The room was great and definitely one of the top rooms I've done so far. It's one of the few companies in Japan that has escape rooms in English. It has a really good set design with a good sense of progression and the feedback is good (you know when you've done something right). They did a really cool transition as well (trying to be vague) which was quite novel (few other places have done a similar thing) and it was a fantastic idea. The story is really well told, full British accent type and absolutely no hindrance with English only. The invigilator was good, broken English but we'll enough to converse and get us through the briefing. Any hints are given through the voice recordings so no breaks in immersion too (unless I guess you do something really wrong). Overall fantastic room, I don't have time on my trip to do the rest, but would definitely come back to try the rest. Strongly recommend if you're able to give it a shot, and especially if you want a break from the regular Japan tourist itinerary.
Game time is 1 hr, but gamemaster will let you play longer if you need. Average completion is maybe 55-70 mins.
GM was friendly, their bar offers drinks post game as well so you can chat over a drink as well.
Yes
Fantastic story, well told and well constructed and always keeping you in the loop (not just a start and end touch point).
Hard
I'd say fairly hard or medium hard. The GM said the fastest they'd seen were a duo escape room creators who finished in 43 mins.
Mechanical

I completed as a duo, 3-4 works well, probably not more than that.

Yes but was quite inconsequential and we were warned ahead. Was pretty much just an input mechanism issue.

Google maps works pretty well, 10min walk from train station, but a little away from most tourist spots. There's no big reception area, each room has its own waiting area, so you just gotta go to your room door and knock.

Fun escape room and great atmosphere. Not too much technical wizardry, but doesn’t take away from the puzzle. Owners are twins and were very friendly and happy to talk about their setup. Great experience. Maybe a bit hard to find from the street.
