Was pretty smooth game. Mike was a great host. Good with the immersion!

Great progression, interesting clues and use of pre-recorded video that felt immersive

Fun room. Our game master Nathan was great. Only complaint was the darkness and zero light assistance but a fun time and challenging. And it is a very linear puzzle room so be warned if you have a big group like we did, half the group won’t have a lot to do.

Did this with 4 of my friends. Solid room but as the other review stated, the original can't be beat. Good various puzzles and good story line. One of the mechanisms didn't work and one of my friends advise them why and pointed it out, it was a known error so hopefully it's fixed now. Staff was in character from the beginning and overall would give a 3.5 out of 5. If it wasn't for the original room I would probably give this a 4 out of 5

The first Kidnapped is up there on my list of favorite Escape rooms, so it was always going to be tough to live up to the legacy of that delightfully twisted and meticulously detailed original. Unfortunately, it didn't quite cut it. There were a couple of the recently-opened hiccups of the puzzles not working, but nothing too severe. The room started off really strong, but it soon became clear that a lot of the puzzles were a little too clean and streamlined. For many puzzles, all the pieces needed would immediately be available when the puzzle was introduced. The puzzles were fine, but many of them seemed too quick or straightforward. 

I know my review is biased, but I can't help to compare to the original. Arguably the best aspect of the original was the atmosphere. The graffiti, the decorations, the killer book, the videos, etc all made the room feel like an authentic, lived-in experience. It provided a unique and compelling backdrop for the Portland Puzzler. That atmosphere wasn't there. Hopefully that will be built up again over time, but at the moment, the atmosphere isn't nearly as rich. The second room feels less like a killer's den and more like a basic escape room with locked drawers and miscellaneous puzzles. This was especially disappointing because in the original Kidnapped, that room had three of my favorite puzzles ever.

If I separate myself from the original version, this room is still solid, but the back half lacks anything truly special to move it to elite tier. As usual, Jessica is possibly the best game master in Portland. She brings so much enthusiasm and fun to every game, especially Kidnapped.
