Fun game, but not linear nor intuitive. We used a ton of clues. Still worth it though!

Captain Carnage has arrived! He took over the once calm fishing village. Can you navigate the pier, keep your wits, and make it out?

Exceptional set craft, with strobes, fog and pneumatic effects, a couple of lovely scares. The set design is top of the line, comparable to the best I've seen throughout California. Will say, games are not intuitive, non linear and some were flat out time burner frustrating. A couple of the puzzles really felt baffling and would have taken us a lot of time to have figured out. Thankfully with a few hints, more than we've ever needed in any room, we escaped. Multiple great subrooms. Had a blast and highly recommended though don't sweat asking for hints. This one is among the hardest to figure out that I've seen.
Very challenging and non linear.
Exceptional set design and aesthetics.
Very warm and welcoming.

This is one of the better escape rooms I’ve done so far! The atmosphere was really well done and the set design was quite large and left a good impression. There were some scares but nothing that I would consider too overwhelming/horrifying for the general public. I was initially skeptical with the lower review count on Morty but I think there was a lot of love and passion put into the room and by the staff. Our GM was Kelly and she did an awesome job with getting us all set up and throughout the game!

This was my first time experiencing Escape Room 831’s selection and I was very pleased! The best part of the experience by far is the room theming and immersion. It’s a perfect complement to the Cannery Row exterior with references to the wharf outside. The scares were also well put-together and enjoyably placed throughout the entirety of the room. The audio was excellent; nothing seemed too quiet or off. I felt that the room relied a little too heavily on combination locks. Gameplay flow was hampered often solving puzzles; it was clear when a puzzle was solved, but finding what changed in the room felt stretched. I would appreciate more clear signals, such as audio cues or an activated glowing widget for certain parts indicating a change based on the action the player’s made. I injured myself with one of the physical interactions necessary in this room. While the GMs were incredibly nice to accommodate afterwards, I would’ve preferred the mechanical effect associated with this to be disabled when actually interacting with it.

I liked the theming being closely more associated with Cannery Row!

Scary
I wasn't affected by the scares but it was definitely intended as a scary room.

This game is such a cool vibe. Love the location in Cannery Row. It seemed like a normal escape room at first and then things got pretty crazy towards the end. Such a fun and thrilling experience!
Every puzzle had some sort of scary result and made it fun to be scared. Loved the anticipation.
