Really fun room with some delightful puzzles and effects. Well-themed, great props, and very immersive despite the smaller space. All the tech worked. We very much enjoyed the variety of puzzle types and loved that several were multi-layered. We did it as a group of 3 (2 enthusiasts and 1 newbie), we used no hints, and we got out with about 10 minutes remaining. Shoutout also to our game master Amelia for really getting into character and being super sweet and high energy!

This was a great game that took a fairly common escape room theme of pirates and took it to the next level. The theming was spot on, and it had some very unique puzzles I have never seen elsewhere. There was one effect in particular that blew me away (you'll know it when you see it!) Our game master Dani did an exceptional job and really got in the act during the intro. Only issue was the room was a bit tight for our group of 5; think 3 or 4 would be perfect for it.
Flowed well, and puzzles made sense, given the theme.
Set well designed, really creative effects, and really enjoyed the unique game master interaction; really added a fun touch.
Dani was a lot of fun, particularly during the introduction in the waiting room. Always nice to see GMs who clearly enjoy their jobs!

There were a couple of puzzles that were very well designed to hide in the theme, and a couple I have never seen before; all were al lot of fun. And I still can't get over how cool one effect in particular was--really caught us by surprise.

Shiver me timbers! The room decor and special effects were fabulous! Everything about our experience was high quality - we loved the puzzles (especially one! You'll know which one after you play...) and the whole Intrepid staff was amazing. This was my 44th room (39W - 5L) so I still consider myself a novice. My family says I need to change that label to "intermediate", but since I ride the coat-tails of one of our players, I'm sticking with "novice" awhile longer. I played with two other adults with similar stats and we escaped with only 2:50 remaining after three hints. Three players felt like a good number in this mostly non-linear room as we all had something to work on. We played all three rooms at Intrepid today (Relic, Subway, and Jewel) and loved all three.
The room decor was amazing. The story flowed well and there were lots of puzzles to keep our group of three occupied.
The set design, props, special effects, and even clue delivery were high quality. Everything was beautiful and very immersive.
The entire staff at Intrepid is wonderful. From the moment we arrived we were enthusiastically greeted, they were funny, knowledgeable, and patient. We usually request that no hints be given without us asking and they were very respectful of that. But, lol, we ended up asking for three - gasp!
Yes
Even though it was a pirate story which is repeated throughout other businesses, I felt that the room decor and puzzles were so high quality that this room sets itself apart from many others.
The plot was memorable and integrated throughout the experience. (tbh, I don't usually listen to the back story but my team does and they liked this story).
Medium
I would say that this room was on the hard side of medium, or the medium side of hard. We had to ask for three hints, which is rare for us. Two were silly things we overlooked but the third hint was for something we were truly stumped on. This was my 44th room (39W - 5L) and I played with two other adults with similar stats.
High tech
This mostly non-linear room is a nice mixture of tech and mechanical.
3
We played as a group of three which was perfect for us but four or five would be fine too. Two players would be challenging (especially with one of the puzzles) but do-able.
Not scary
We don't play scary rooms...

The room is family friendly so my suggestion of age 8 is only based on typical attention span. If you have a younger enthusiast, certainly include them in your adventure!

Everything was high quality and in perfect working condition.
No
No actors, thank goodness.
Somewhat
Only the usual frantic escape-room-running-around. Nothing strenuous.
I think the room is large enough for a wheel chair, however, visual and color ability is needed.

Home grown room with lots of cool puzzles and surprises. Probably good with 3+, but we did fine with 2. The room worked together really nicely and we had a blast!

By far the best room at intrepid. Room design was really well made, and enjoyed the puzzles here as well. Definitely a must do if you are new to escape rooms. Sweet spot is definitely 4, any more might take away from the experience.
Design was fun and creative. Progression was also creative.
Again, by far the best at Intrepid.
Everyone at Intrepid from our experience playing all 3 games are awesome!

Good but not by any means a special room. One nice special effect but the actual puzzle quality was medium and the room is very small overall. 7/10

Loved this room. Did all three at this location and we loved all of the rooms. Thanks Elise for helping us out!

Only for the introduction. And our little room buddy, but I don’t know if I’d call him a live actor….
