Jewel of the Sea is a fun pirate escape room. The puzzles are all fairly intuitive and flow decently, as the room is pretty compact. Theming is great and lots of details everywhere. Highlights of this room are the fun reveals and the teamwork dexterity puzzle. The main standout here is the immersion factor, from the pre-show to the way the GM talks to you in character in this room. Not only speaking up when giving hints, but commenting on your progress. It was great to have proactive communication even when you don't need hints! Our GM was fantastic. The medium difficulty rating is about right, as our family of 4 managed to get out with more than 17 minutes left. Definitely recommend this room and will be back to try their others in the future. Also, they have a great lobby.

I loved this game! It is on one of my tops.. only think I would say there is something in the game that can be difficult/ time consuming for two people but anything more than that is definitely going to make it out :)
Everything was straight forward and made sense. The clue system was also fun and matched the theme
The set design was really nice, and loved the sound effects in the room as well
Our gm was GREAT I wish I could remember her name but she made the theme of the story so much better and the whole building is just decorated very nicely
I think itβs a mixture of both

One of the best pirate ship games Iβve played. Really fun puzzles and tasks, a beautiful environment that truly stretched from floor to ceiling, a unique hint system, and a few very special mid-game moments. A very cohesive experience by all metrics.
The puzzles were just plain fun to solve, made sense in the environment, and propelled the story forward. A couple of really fun physical tasks as well. They pack a punch with the number of puzzles given the size of the footprint.
All six surfaces were well thought out and had us admiring the ceiling and floor in addition to the four walls. A very fun and memorable special effect midway through the game. Beautiful lighting. A lot of attention to the tiniest of details π§
Krista took good care of us from the moment we walked in to the moment we left the building. Thanks Krista!

A common theme and story, but one of the best to do it.
A lot of backstory that ultimately boiled down to treasure discovery, but love that they rounded out the story in a thank you email after the game.

If we came across a lock, it made sense to find it on a ship.

A non-linear track at times, but not a huge space, so more than 4 might start to feel crowded.

A couple of puzzles require color differentiation. Hearing needed to receive hints.

I really appreciate rooms with great set design and Iβd say this room was done pretty well. The room is best for 2-4 players in my opinion, just so itβs not crowded and everyone has something to do.

This is a solid room. It has a great set, including audio, lighting, and a certain parrot that plays the part of your host and cheerleader. I enjoyed the puzzles and there was one that was a great team puzzle that I have never seen before. It was easy to know what to do and yet not super easy to accomplish it. They crammed a lot into what is a fairly small space. The flow was good and everything made sense. I would recommend a group of 3 or 4 for this room.
Great puzzles and glue.
Charming set with nice audio and lighting.

Great interaction with the GM to start the room and get the set the scene.

There are a couple of subtle clues that if you see make the puzzles straightforward, but if you miss could lead to frustration.

There is a change in flooring height between two rooms and one of the rooms is especially tight.

Jewel of the sea is a great pirate room, it absolutely makes the most of its fairly small space, featuring some really creative puzzles, some tough ones, and some humor. The set is beautiful, and the theatrics of the room were wonderful as well. This is definitely Intrepidβs best game, and is definitely one of the best games around SoCal

Iβve done over 50 escape rooms and was so excited for this room after hearing about how everyone has seemed to love it and that itβs award-winning. We enjoyed Intrepidβs mobile escape room at escape room day pop-up booth as well. For this game, I went with an experienced group of three and we needed several hints. It definitely got to the point of frustrating that we couldnβt figure anything out. The atmosphere was really well done and the props were beautiful. We also had a good game master. We were unfortunately disappointed. We felt that the game didnβt flow, the puzzles we were able to start but didnβt make sense to finish, and some of the tech did not work. For something that had so many overwhelming positive reviews, I am surprised that it isnβt for everyone. We are looking forward to other escape rooms that they have that we have not completed yet.

We really enjoyed this one. Very unique puzzles and not just locks. We had a group of 3 and did need several hints. We almost ran out of time otherwise because there was one puzzle in particular that was hard to complete. That puzzle isnβt really about figuring it out and more about physical teamwork and that was a little frustrating. Char our GM was fantastic. Sheβs so invested and excited about what they do. So appreciated.
Char our game master was AMAZING. Super friendly, super into it and just great.
