In the early days of the manhood the magic was highly celebrated! The magic codes had become the guardians, guarding the secret temples! Can you stop the misuse?

The puzzles were homemade, for better or worse. As such, they were often unique, but probably not enough of them as we escaped in just over 30 minutes. Quite a linear experience. There were two very memorable effects/transformations in the room unlike anything I've previously experienced.

If youβre a Harry Potter fan like myself this is a cute room. It had 2 elements of the room that was very unique. Had an issue with the last puzzle due to a sensor going off and not releasing a part. Overall solid room.

Like every other game we've played at Memphis Escape Rooms, Magician's Code is very well designed and fun to play. The theme of the room was very immersive and there were some fun, and unique, elements in the room. The room is mostly linear is the progression is very well thought out. Easily on of our favorite rooms at Memphis Escape Rooms.
The magic theme, alongside a mystery theme, was pervasive throughout. There were some unique puzzles in the room and it flowed very well. The puzzles were challenging for an experienced group of three (plus our trusty game master) but not too difficult.
Highly immersive. The room's theme was consistent throughout the entire game.
As always, our game master was outstanding and an integral part of the team when he saw us get stuck a time or two. The whole staff is very energetic and welcoming.
Yes
For a magic-themed room this was more like a magic mystery and different from other magic-themed rooms we've played. If you're expecting straight-up Harry Potter this isn't quite it. Instead, it is a mystery that's related to the history of magic. Very fun.
Each puzzle fully supported the theme of the room, and was well integrated into the overall flow. There were a couple of puzzles that were unique to our 80+ escape room experience.
Hard
Overall, medium to hard. The assessment that Memphis Escape Rooms gives on their advertisement posters about difficulty, teamwork and communication is very accurate. The puzzles were all logical and most of the solutions, once players have a clue in hand, are clear (it helps to solve and input the codes correctly instead of getting frustrated that "it isn't working"...no duh).
Mechanical
Mostly mechanical but almost no(?) locks. The room includes a unique "magic trick."

We played with 3 but 4-5 might have allowed us to spread around the room a little further since communication from different parts of the room are important. Since the room is linear more than 5 might leave some players out.

The room is good sized requiring some movement back & forth.
The room is somewhat dark (but a flashlight is not required) to match the medieval theme and there are some stairs and a couple of narrow spaces.

There is a dedicated parking lot for the building. Spaces were plentiful on a Friday afternoon.

Honestly, the room wasnβt memorable. It was fun, but when looking back, we have a hard time remembering what the room was about. Also, some things had to be placed in the precise location and turned a precise way which made it harder because we then thought that the item didnβt go there.

Love this room! Itβs a little older and could use some TLC, but everything works well and makes sense. Itβs a really fun room that would work amazingly for larger groups. With 2 of us we definitely felt some pressure, but still got through this quickly. This has some super fun, clever puzzles that we really liked.
We love the staff at Memphis Escape

This room was very clever with a lot of unique puzzles we had never seen before. Thereβs an environmental reveal that I still canβt wrap my head around. There are definitely elements of this puzzle that feel like real magic! Very good game flow and puzzles.

I had a great time playing this room. It was the best magic-themed room I've done, and one of my favorites at Memphis Escape Rooms. One of the effects in the room was truly unique and I'm not sure exactly how they pulled it off.

Squeeeaaaakkkkyyy flooooorssss. A well decorated room that's biggest downfall is the fact that some of the solutions were very esoteric which didnβt lead to the buzz that a good puzzle provides. I will also say, the dim lighting was atmospheric, but caused problems because it was well, dark. That said, you do get to perform one piece of "real magic" that is a ton of fun. Side note there is one moving set piece that was very comedic in how slow it was. Youβll know what Iβm talking about when it happens. Our GM was also really quick to give hints that werenβt asked for, and that did somewhat kill the flow for my group. This review may sound negative, but it really isn't meant to be. This is a really solid room I would recommend to any of my friends. I just know the "Jurassic Project" one exists and is the quality Memphis Escape Rooms can achieve.
