Irvine School of Wizardry and the Goblin's Secrets

The Goblin's Secret is my new favorite escape room! The set design and props are the highest quality and so detailed. I felt like I was in a room designed by Disney or Universal! In fact, there is a part during the story when my group and I were like, "OMG - what?! This is SO cool!!" (When you play the game, you'll know which part I'm talking about...). This was my 45th room (40W - 5L) so I still consider myself a novice (I totally ride the coat-tails of one of my teammates, BabySquirrel). I played with two other adults with similar stats. We agree that this is an amazing room. It is mostly linear, although there are so many puzzles, that everyone in my group contributed something to each puzzle. The room is a nice mix of tech and mechanical. The puzzles are of medium difficulty, but they are numerous so the room feels more difficult than a typical medium room. We finished with 4:03 remaining and no hints. I would highly, highly, highly recommend it for all ages and abilities.

This newer room is just as immersive & well-themed as their first, but since it has more puzzles, I’m giving it a ❤️. Still, since they charge more to complete the room as just a team of 2, we went as a group of 4 enthusiasts and got out in 41 mins, even with an extra bonus puzzle thrown in. Both of their rooms are well done & enjoyable and have very high production value. We really wish they had more puzzles and were more challenging so we didn’t finish so early!

Truly a magical experience. I actually clapped with delight as we solved puzzles and cast spells. A must do room.

Wow! Put this one in your must do list! The attention to detail is off the charts. The best part is that we found out that the GM can increase the difficulty based on the group’s experience to get the most out of the hour. I can’t wait until “part 2” is opened. They have been working on this one for years and yes it was worth the wait. 😍

Another amazing experience by Hidden Donkey! You don’t need any prior knowledge to complete the room, and it’s clear just how much love was put into the set design, puzzles, and atmosphere. Amazing experience!

Hidden Donkey is one of the best escape rooms in OC! They currently only have 2 escape rooms, but I love both! I do prefer the other one over this escape room just because the other room had more puzzles and the puzzles were more intricate. BUT this one is definitely more theatrical. I can't wait what they have in store for us next! #teamslytherin 🐍

Good — a bit linear and a few logic jumps. Cute and well produced. Room seems a bit overhyped, though. Good but not great.

This was a very whimsical escape room! You definitely felt like you were in the wizardry world, and what made this a unique experience was the tech and mechanical aspects that went into this room. You can tell that the creators put a lot of work and creativity into their puzzles, props, and set design. As a group of 3, we had a great time together! This escape room is linear, so 3-4 players are a good fit to communicate, work together, and think outside the box. There was so much to look at, and we tried our best not to get distracted by how magical this escape room felt! Haha. I would highly recommend this escape room, especially if you’re into the fantasy theme and Harry Potter!

Every Harry Potter fan needs to play this room!
