Since the beginning of the 20th century, St. Mary's Hospital, located in the county of Sabadell, opened its doors to the public with a seemingly benevolent purpose: to treat children, adolescents, and social outcasts with mental problems. At first glance, it was nothing more than a hospital like any other. Unfortunately, far from being the country's model psychiatric hospital, under the direction of Dr. Loeb, it became the epicenter of the cruelest, most terrifying, and macabre experiments. Fifty years after its closure and abandonment, St. Mary's remains standing, but its dark secrets live on. The Securest company has monitored the premises ever since to prevent intrusions. A few days ago, however, contact was lost with the night watchman, Peter Strahm, and he hasn't been heard from since... Securest has hired you to investigate the hospital and discover what happened to Peter. You must find any evidence or information that might shed light on his disappearance and the secrets that still lurk in the shadows of St. Mary's.

As a disclaimer, I don't generally like horror. Even so, NightShift was fantastic, though it's difficult to say why without spoiling things. Good set, spooky vibes, decent puzzles. As with many horror games, lighting was sometimes dimmer than I would have preferred.

Really fun and a huge set! One set piece in particular was original and thrilling. Good variety and quantity of puzzles throughout.

Nightshift does horror efficiently and smartly: a derelict hospital, an actor doing serious work with serious physical commitment, and a set of scare mechanics that feel earned rather than cheap. It also pulls off one of the best structural tricks I’ve encountered in any escape room. If you enjoy horror rooms and you’re in Barcelona, Nightshift belongs on your list.

9/10 There is one single moment in Nightshift that I have never experienced in any other horror game in the world. It is executed with such precision that it truly took the room to a whole new level for me. I applaud them at getting me with their antics. Now, besides that, Nightshift is a fairly straight forward horror experience. Decent puzzles, decent scares, the set design and lighting are fine. I highly recommend this room for the sole purpose of one exact moment. Other than that it’s simply a solid horror room.

NightShift is a different type of horror game. Well thought out scares, clever storyline, and some actual puzzles make a great horror room. Wonderful performance by our GM, and we had a fantastic time overall. It’s not my favorite horror room in Barcelona, but in a rich Spanish market, for any kind of traveler, this unique game is a definite must play.

Nightshift was one of those games that just kept on giving! The experience felt unique, carefully crafted, and full of moments that made it stand out. The set was beautifully made and created a great atmosphere from start to finish, pulling us into the world of the room without needing to overdo anything. The puzzles were good and fit nicely into the experience, but the real highlight was the overall feeling of the game, and especially the game master, who was such a nice guy and really helped make the whole experience memorable. A great choice for escape room lovers! 🏥

a solid horror game that delivers on its momentum and moments. It doesn’t reinvent the genre, but what it does it does extremely well. Add another great final photo where the GM understood where players should be standing, how to use lighting, and what angles to shoot from.

The most puzzle-y and "escape room-y" horror game we played (compared with Posesión and Outline). An epic surprise in this that I won't risk spoiling here (definitely avoid spoilers for this game!), but I'd be surprised if anyone had seen this before this game was created. One of the biggest wow moments in BCN! This was pretty scary at the beginning of the game until you get your bearings but the intensity wanes, and I'd say this is more of a "medium horror" experience. I did appreciate that some of the puzzles require interactions which you might not (in the moment) enjoy... and you don't know which they'll be or who might experience them. If you go in knowing that almost everyone will have "some" interaction of some sort, you'll enjoy this. My lips are sealed :)

Not far from the nearest R train station. It's a bit far out, but accessible from the city center. All must be present for the game to start.

I’m not the biggest fan of horror rooms, but Night Shift (terror mode) is really special. There’s a great balance of (actual) puzzles with scares, so you get both a fully-fledged escape room element and that of a haunt. There are also a few unexpected twists in the story that are very scary in the moment, but by the end of the game make for an excellent experience. You’re also never quite sure when the action you’re taking will protect you from a scare or not…
