Travel back to Bavaria in the year 1901 to visit Otto’s Oddities, a humble shop where a world-changing event has just occurred. A young toy maker has invented what will become a huge phenomenon, but he’s been thwarted before he can begin – the grumpy shop owner won’t stock his new creation! It’s up to you to break into the shop in the dead of night and sneak the toy into the shop window. The sales will start flooding in and prove the toy a huge success, so we can all enjoy it for decades to come! …if you succeed. Can you and your team pull off this daring heist? Venture into the whimsical and sinister world of Otto’s Oddities and find out! Otto’s Oddities has two separate, identical rooms with a capacity of 2-6 people each, allowing two teams to play simultaneously! Please note that the game is private (it will just be you and the team you booked with in your game room, and you won’t have to share it with any other players), but you may be briefed with another team. If you have any questions, just give us a ring or drop us an email and we’ll be happy to help! You can also play Otto’s Oddities in versus mode, going head to head against your friends, family or colleagues to add a bit of competitive fun to the game! Groups of 6 or more can opt to play the game in versus mode – simply drop us an email at [email protected] when you book if you’d like to do this!

First visit to a Pier Pressure escape room and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Our host Ben was really friendly and helpful, just the right amount of clues/nudges to stop us getting too stuck or frustrated; this is supposed to be fun after all. The room was well done (no marks to give away if something should be moved, no props looking a bit worse for wear) and the puzzles went from quite easy to a bit more complicated; one of the more difficult ones would've totally stumped us but our son got it immediately, somehow. Really liked the 'squeaky window' for the clues, so you don't have to read it if you don't want to; rooms where they speak the clues mean you don't get a choice to try and fumble your way through on your own. They take a team photo for you at the end that they then email it to you, with the brand and location added but, just an idea, maybe the team name and date/time could be added too? We did the room in just under the hour and the cost was on par with the other escape rooms we've done, so happy with that. Ben suggests that usually teams of six are best for the room, due to the nature of one of the puzzles, but we did okay with just the 3 of us. Will definitely be looking for other Pier Pressure rooms nearer home and hope they're as good as this one. Tip 1: If you haven't been here before, park in the multi-storey just to the left of the Campus West building and go up the stairs on the left as you enter. Walk through, stop in the cafe area and ring to let them know you've arrived, they'll come and collect you. Tip 2: there's a reasonable amount of reading - not just looking at stuff - so don't forget your glasses (like I did)

A lot of fun playing this as a couple for a birthday treat (one first timer, one with experience of 2-3 other escape rooms). Puzzles were well done, and we finished with 40s to spare, so difficulty was perfectly judged. The Otto’s Oddities puzzles were thinking and observation, no physical challenges or difficult spaces to negotiate. Guides and characters in the game were very good and created a fun constructive atmosphere. Would be great for older children too. Campus West was a great location with other things to do and a cafe/bar and easy parking. We would definitely go again!
