This is such a fun and whimsical room. The set is wonderful and the little customized touch at the end is great. I love that they can change the difficulty on the fly, to suit the group. We were told at the end that they added all of the available bonus puzzles since we were ahead of schedule, and they let us know which ones were actually bonuses. And, we wouldn’t have known unless they told us. I think that this is a nice change as the escape rates on their other three room are currently 35%, 38%, and 50%. I like that this newer room can scale the difficulty so that more groups actually escape.
The one area where I think that this room falls just a bit short is on puzzles. When compared to their other rooms, these just felt easier.
I’d recommend 4-5 people for this room. There’s plenty to do so you can divide and conquer.
For as amazing of a room that this is, I felt that it felt short on the puzzles when compared to the other rooms at the San Jose location, as well as a couple of the rooms at their Sunnyvale location. They weren’t bad, but they just didn’t involve as much thought. And, that might be what they were going for, considering the cute theme.
The staff was very friendly and the GMs honored our preference for no hints or nudges unless we initiated it.
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
Very cute theme with a bit of a twist.
The story contributed to the gameplay and overall enjoyment of the room.
This room is much easier than the other rooms currently offered at their San Jose location.
Physically active
A bit of running around was required at one point during the game.
Accessibility
There are a few narrow spaces, some running around by four people is required to complete one of the puzzles, and colors are used in multiple puzzles.
