The opening sequence (~15-30 min) of the game is phenomenal, definitely one of my favorites ever. The set is fantastic and atmospheric, and the music is both a joy to listen to and sets the mood very well. I'm a sucker for the game's theme, and the actors were very fun to improv with.
If I had to nitpick, the end of the game didn't live up to the strong opening, and it wasn't clear to us how we were supposed to react to certain things happening (i.e. is this for atmosphere or are the GMs trying to tell us not to do X?). Also, a few puzzles throughout the game felt like they could be replaced with something more engaging.
Play night mode if you can; as I understand the differences, the atmosphere should be much more thematic.
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
4 enthusiasts felt fine. The game is very linear, so 2 or 3 would probably also be fine.
This is more "Saturday morning cartoon" scary - there are moments that are intended to startle or make you uneasy, but I never felt threatened.
This was some of my favorite actor interaction in a game. Actors were prepared for extended improv, which felt very satisfying.
