As a prisoner deep under the Colosseum, you await your turn in battle. Spartacus was once imprisoned in the very cells you currently occupy, and he managed to escape. To help others follow his path to freedom, he left a series of clues and challenges showing the way but made them clever enough so the guards couldn’t follow his path. Studying the timing of the guard patrols, you realize you have a 120-minute window with which to make your escape or face the uncertainty of the arena against tested gladiators. Get ready for a unique adventure like no other! You will work your way through multiple distinct rooms under the Colosseum, working together with your fellow prisoners – and maybe a little help from unsuspected allies – finding clues and solving puzzles in your effort to Escape the Colosseum! May the Gods of Rome have mercy on you and bless your path to escape! Escape the Colosseum is one of the longest escape adventures in the world at up to 120 minutes. The attention to detail makes this a deeply immersive experience and you truly feel like you have been transported 2,000 years into the past. A lot to love and a lot of frustrations in this set of rooms. Like others have said, it is 4 rooms with a total of 2hrs. Each one times out at 30 minutes and you cannot roll over unused time from previous rooms. The theming and variety of puzzles were really fun. However, there were multiple elements broken in each room so frequently we would solve something and then be unable to progress because the prop mechanics didn't respond appropriately. The use of in-character audio clues was helpful but also made me wonder if they were added because the puzzles didn't have enough clear signposting on their own. Overall, I think this room needs serious TLC to fix all the glitchy components.

Raquel was a great game master. Some of the things didn’t open even though we did it right so that was a bit frustrating thematically but she did a great job of helping us. I loved that this room was longer than others we have done and had some mechanisms that we haven’t experienced yet in our escape room travels! We got out with 20 minutes left and were able to finish each room before the 30 minute mark. I see some people seeing they couldn’t but it’s possible!

This was so much fun! We only ran out of time in one of the 4 rooms but we were so close! The game master and David were awesome! Really enjoyed their energy. We had a not so great experience at this location one other time but this time totally redeemed itself!

We liked the room but the pacing was less to be desired. If they changed it to having the full 2 hours and not 4 rooms split up into 30 minute intervals I would have liked this room much more. Also, give less unprompted hints please :-)

Gameplay

It was fine but I disliked the flow of the game. Thinking you are going into a 2 hour room but only given 30 minutes per room made us feel rushed in a way that didnt add to the experience. Also they gave out hints too freely without prompting which I dislike

Atmosphere

The set design was good and it was immersive but some of the puzzles felt really old or didn’t work very well

Drove over an hour for this 2 hour room just to be told the first entrance to the second room was broken. Multiple things in the rooms broken. The exit door was stuck and wouldn’t open when we finished the last room. Poor experience.
