The Escape Lodge

We had such a lovely time in the lodge as a family of 4. So many fun trails of puzzles and we scratched our heads late into the night but managed to get all the loot! Also fitted in 3 of the dreadlocked escape games which were all excellent. Lodge is in a beautiful setting and we watched swifts and weasels and a whole host of other wildlife from the lodge! Lovely and peaceful and the pool was very warm! Would highly recommend to anyone, families or couples or friends!

What can I say!! We were greeted by the owners in their escape room that we did before staying, we have done all of their escape rooms now, but the overnight escape is just something else!! We spent the entire time working out the puzzles, it made us switch off from life, it was thrilling and there was so much to do!! As for the actual lodge it was clean! Very well stocked with essentials and the little extra they give! The communication with the owners was perfect. There was a pool, tennis court, fishing ponds and a gym, we looked at these but didn’t use as we were having too much fun running around looking for clues. The scenery was amazing. The only downside was the on site ‘restaurant’ online it doesn’t give much detail about it, but after dressing up to go down for dinner we then found that it was just snacky bits. Goujons and chips etc, although there were plenty of local places to eat, and the lodge has a well equipped kitchen. As for Deb, Gemma and the staff at dreadlock well done!! You provide a 5* experience!! Friendly, welcoming and just lovely! They HAVE to make more rooms!! I demand it! Xx Vikki & Nicole xx

Overnight Escapes Cornwall – Review What can I say? The two ladies who run this lodge have truly thought of everything. Their attention to detail is incredible—from the décor and the carefully chosen items provided, to the puzzles themselves, which are perfectly designed. Having completed all of their escape rooms, the moment we heard they were opening an overnight lodge, we didn’t hesitate to book! Without giving anything away, the experience cleverly combines puzzles both inside and outside, encouraging you to explore the entire site. It makes the whole stay feel immersive and unique from start to finish. The lodge itself has everything you could need, is very spacious and spotless on arrival. The hosts Deb & Gemma are amazing hosts and you can see this is truly their passion, and nothing is too much for them even on a ridiculously hot day coming to our rescue with some fans to try and cool us down. One of the most unique and memorable experiences we’ve ever had! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how beautiful the lodge was. It’s set in such a peaceful location and feels like a proper escape, but still has everything you could possibly need. The lodge itself is stunning, really spacious, spotlessly clean, and finished to such a high standard. Every room felt cosy and welcoming, and you can tell so much thought has gone into making it comfortable as well as special. You get access to the sites facilities which are also brilliant and all the staff are professional and welcoming! The whole lodge is filled with cleverly designed puzzles and clues, so very well thought out and planned. We loved how immersive and interactive it was, with a storyline running throughout and surprises hidden everywhere. It made the whole stay feel exciting and different from anything we’ve done before. Everything has clearly been designed with so much care and attention to detail, and it really shows. It’s one of those places where you keep discovering new things the longer you stay. We genuinely didn’t want to leave! We it to anyone wanting a unique getaway in Cornwall.

Wow! Such a brilliant few days at the escape lodge. Great storyline. Entertaining communication. The lodge is spacious, even when you have lanky teenagers with you. I had particular puzzle in my head when I woke at 4am. Puzzles everywhere. Plenty to keep you entertained but we were also able to enjoy the site and local area. Definitely do it.

We were a group of 4 and thoroughly enjoyed this lodge. Puzzles everywhere we looked and kept us entertained. Debs and Gemma were so welcoming and on hand if we needed anything. We also had fab communication leading up to our stay too. All amenities within the lodge and really spacious. Great fun for all the family.

We had the best weekend at The Escape Lodge. The lodge itself was lovely and had everything you could possibly need for a weekend away. There were stacks of well-thought out puzzles to keep us entertained and we enjoyed exploring the caravan park too. The Dreadlock Escape Rooms are a minutes walk away and we played all 4 rooms which were well themed, logical and good fun. Our lovely hosts even threw in some extra escape envelopes to solve! We could not fault anything! Fingers crossed they will open another lodge- we will certainly be going again if they do!! Cannot recommend highly enough!

Such a great experience. Lots of fun puzzles both inside and outside the lodge. The lodge itself is stunning, everything you need and to the highest of standards. Hosts are amazing and think of everything to make sure you have what you need and enjoy your experience. As for the escapes .....such a variety of puzzles that are suitable for all, beginner to advance. Definitely worth taking your time and enjoying the experience rather than racing the clock. Perfect overall package! Can not recommend highly enough....kinda sad it's completed now!

This was one of the best escape room experiences I’ve ever had! What a fantastic venue!! The clues were so clever and some of them took you outside, meaning you got to see the sights of the holiday park too. There was never a dull moment and we were definitely kept on our toes. The actual accommodation was fantastic as well, very clean and well kept. I’m sad the experience is over!!! Fingers crossed they open another lodge so we can go back! I definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone! 🤩🤩

Full transparency before I gush: I am affiliated with Dreadlock Escape Rooms, who also own Overnight Escapes. HOWEVER, this experience was fully paid for, and this review is 100% honest. If it wasn’t brilliant, I’d say so (and probably cry a little). I’ve now completed over 150 escape rooms, including another overnight escape experience up country, and I can confidently say this is by far our favourite escape experience in the UK. The Lodge itself has been beautifully curated. Homely, cosy, and comfortable in a way that makes you forget you’re technically “at work” solving puzzles. And the master bathroom? Absolutely outrageous. I would happily get trapped in there alone just to spend the weekend in the bath. From the second we stepped through the door, the game was on. Puzzles everywhere. Clever, satisfying, and packed with those glorious “AH-HA!” moments that make you feel like a genius… briefly… before the next puzzle humbles you again. The puzzles are incredibly well thought out, varied, and wonderfully immersive—and I loved that the experience doesn’t keep you confined indoors. We wrapped up warm and explored the park, which is genuinely lovely and adds a whole new dimension to the game. As a disabled person I found the site to be mostly accessible however I am happy to answer specific questions regarding this if needed. As a bonus, you also get access to the site’s facilities, including a quiet pool and gym (if that’s your thing—if not, more puzzle time). We found all £1,000,000 with no clues 🥰 In short: clever puzzles, stunning setting, cosy accommodation, and an experience that completely blew us away. I really hope this won't be their only overnight experience and I hope to see more like this from other owners. Highly, highly recommended.
