A very immersive, very family-friendly, and very beginner-friendly experience, that accomplishes a lot in an extremely small footprint! The gameplay all comes together really well, however, it is very short, with us finishing the game in a little over 30 minutes. It definitely feels like specifically a beginner/low-intermediate Escape Room. The setting in the first half of the game is amazing, however the 2nd half of the game is just far less interesting.
Evasive Escape Rooms definitely feels like it's influenced by specifically other companies in the area, especially The Escape Ventures (actually one of the owners of TEV suggested we play these), and that influence is very visible in how they introduce their games. Like TEV this game has a fully immersive introduction character, and stays focused on continuity immersing you throughout, especially with a really cool transition scene between the first and second halves.
However, I just wish that the scene it transitioned to was far more interesting, and that there was a little more to this experience, cause as much as I really like this one, I find it forgettable. But don’t get me wrong I really like this game, and recommend it, especially to beginners in the area. I wouldn’t go out of the way to get to this one, but if you’re going out here for TEV Port Charlotte and Evasive’s other game(s), definitely don’t leave this one out (unless you don’t have time for all of them, in which case this is probably the first cut you make from that stacked lineup).
