Surf's Up

I played all four games today as solo player. Let me first start off by saying what a wonderful company. Every person on the staff was incredible and I was able to meet one of the owners. She was awesome. My game master Joseph, who did all my games was really fun to work with. Every single one of their rooms is well thought out and perfectly executed. They all were extremely different from one another. You can tell the amount of thought that went into each room. If you are a first timer, novice, or experience you have to come to surf city escapes. Surf‘s up is a really fun take on an original theme. They completely nailed the surf city Huntington Beach vibe. It felt like you were in a time capsule of rad nostalgia.

Absolutely fantastic time at Surfs Up. Clever and Unique gameplay wonderful hosts and a great sense of fun. Absolutely would recommend doing multiple rooms here. It’s such a lovely location, so be sure to set aside some time to grab dinner at one of the many lovely places to eat here. Be sure to park in the regular parking and they will validate, but this is not apply to valley parking. Thank you to Ben and all is people. Everyone was so fun and treated us very well.

“DUUUUUDE… they actually grounded us.” My wife, the kids, and I were stuck at home, sentenced to the dreaded punishment of… being grounded to our room!. ? Done. Cleaning? Done. One clue at a time, we tracked down my surfboard and made a run for the beach before anyone noticed. Mission accomplished! The puzzles were a blast and fit the story perfectly. Nothing ever felt out of place… every solve pushed us closer to grabbing the board and catching that perfect wave. The progression was smooth, clever, and satisfying, with just the right amount of challenge. The ambiance was exactly what we’ve come to expect from Surf City Escapes. Every room supports the theme, and Surf’s Up was no exception. From the moment we stepped inside, it felt like we were living out a fun California surf adventure instead of just solving puzzles. The bittersweet part? We’ve officially completed every game at Surf City Escapes. That’s a testament to how much we’ve enjoyed this location. Every room has delivered a quality experience, and we’ve always left smiling. Final Verdict: 🤙🌊 Great puzzles, immersive atmosphere, and another memorable family adventure. We escaped, surfboard in hand, and rode off into the sunset.

Phenomenal room! Surfs up is incredible family fun, very great for all ages to get involved. Really enjoyable tech and theme that made me laugh a bunch and smile the whole time!

This is a pretty easy family-friendly game with some fun moments and a regional-specific theme. I’m giving the game a thumbs down due to a malfunction that occurred during the game and how it was handled. In the final act of the game, the game master came in and told us we’d won even though we had multiple puzzles left to solve. When we asked about the unfinished puzzles, the game master said that something had malfunctioned and he was unable to fix it without restarting the entire game. There was a significant amount of puzzling that we missed because of this. Thankfully, they gave us a full refund without asking. At other escape rooms when there are issues in the game, they can be remedied by putting the game on pause and fixing the issue. In this case they told us that was not possible. I’d encourage Surf City Escapes to rework their technology to allow for mid-game adjustments because this will undoubtedly happen again and people should not have to miss out on multiple puzzles because of it.

We had the best time!! Such a fun room to do with the family. Definitely recommend and will be back to do the rest of the rooms!

This room really made a splash in the OC scene! Our experience was a tidal wave of fun and clever puzzles. Ben and Katie, the escape room owners, should win an award for how fantastic this room was. Storyline is hilarious. Puzzles actually made me learn about surfing culture and there is something different for everyone to work on. It’s refreshing to have such a creative idea as this. A respectful homage to surfing that also has top-of-the-line production value in such a small place, Surf’s Up is totally rad and is a must play!

This room was totally RAD DUDE!! The waves were gnarly and the puzzle surfing was sweet. Fantastic room with some fun surprises. I felt that me and my girl were cruising in the beginning, feeling great, but eventually got stuck on a puzzle that required a few nudges from the GM who was kind enough to help us. I am never above asking for help and the puzzle is pretty tough. Overall an excellent room and worth a drive to Huntington Beach
