Every now and then, stories surface about a game in which you encounter yourself. No one knows where the game comes from, who created it, or what its purpose is. The only thing all the stories agree on is that the game gives you exactly what you need… Once you start playing, there’s no turning back. You must finish the game in order to escape it. Who or what you’ll encounter in The DarkVerse is never certain, it depends entirely on who you are. It’s not about the game. It’s about who you become playing it. Of course, these are just rumors. No one has ever actually seen such a game, so we can say with fairly high certainty that a game like this doesn’t exist. Into the DarkVerse is the latest DarkPark experience in a long line of groundbreaking escape room adventures. Into the DarkVerse challenges you to search within yourself. Do you dare to stand in front of the mirror? To face what you’ve always wanted to keep hidden? To confront your deepest fears? You are the story. You hold the dice of this game in your hands. You are the only one who can bring this story to a good ending. You are the Story. Step into the DarkVerse!

323 escape rooms

This is a very different style of game that arguably isn't an escape room, as the puzzles are trivial. I could see the argument that it's closer to immersive theater. Aside from the novel gameplay (which is worth seeing just for itself), the main strength of the game is akin to a recap episode for players who have enjoyed DarkPark's other games. We were able to play it soon after playing most of their other games so appreciated the numerous references; you'll probably be a little confused if you don't go in with that background.

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

Very novel gameplay, never seen anything like it

Easy

Game tech

High tech

The game was one of the most high tech feeling games I've played, even though in reality it's probably not actually.

Ideal number of players

2

4 enthusiasts were OK, but only because none of us felt like we had to be doing stuff. There's only really enough for 2 players to do, so anyone else has to be OK with a hands off approach

Scary

Scary

Scary by Netherlands standards. Mostly depends on how well players handle the dark.

Was anything broken?

No

Yes

Physically active

Not at all

Accessibility

At least one player will need to be comfortable confidently moving around in darkness
