The Inheritance: A Very Merry Mystery

Another great one from Mystery Soup. If you did the old Inheritance, exactly none of the puzzles are the same, so this will be a completely new experience. A good one for fewer people -- we had 5, probably too many, we finished before the 40 minute mark. Thank you to our gamemaster Curt!

This room is top notch. The theming of the room is perfect, with happy cheerful decor and colors throughout. My wife and I were frequently smiling and admiring the decorations and setup as we played. For anyone else it might pertain to, we had done the original Inheritance earlier in the year, but this room is a completely different experience. (In our opinion, much better than the original.) The other real plus of the room was the puzzles themselves - it is an extremely puzzle rich room with some easier ones and some more difficult. All were fun and enjoyable to solve. Our GM Tina was great as well, she had a great pulse as to when she would offer help and when she would let us feel our way around a bit. A near perfect experience. My wife and I agreed on the way out that this one is one of the best we've done.

Another wonderful room at Mystery Soup. This was so adorable and this would be perfect for families with young puzzle lovers. The puzzles were intuitive - and adorable. Even without youngsters, us two enthusiasts quite enjoyed this room. The ending was absolutely top tier!

A great addition to Mystery Soup! Very family friendly, lots of different styles of puzzles, heart warming theme. Some of us had done the room when it was The Inheritance, but this room really is significantly different. It did not feel like the same room at all. There are MANY puzzles, which was great for our larger sized group, but they are also fairly quick puzzles so it doesn't feel overwhelming. Highly recommend!

Great Christmas style room! Lots of little puzzles that keeps you occupied and gives you those nice little wins. Perfect time to do this room right around Christmas time!

The Inheritance: A Very Merry Mystery is a complete rehaul of the previous The Inheritance game, changing everything but the footprint. Story, puzzles and interior are all new, so it’s a great play both for new players and those who have done the original The Inheritance. We liked the previous game very much, but the Christmas- themed new version is a real treat. It’s puzzle-rich, but because the puzzles are at an accessible difficulty level, keeps the players moving and solving speedily. The puzzles flow logically and are wonderfully on-theme. This would be an amazing introduction to escape rooms for kids and families, but it’s so well designed that it was equally a delight for a couple of enthusiasts. As always, the owners and gamemasters are great. I’m almost tempted to borrow somene else’s kids to get to do the game again.
