Will you escape Edward's basement? You and your friends have been kidnapped by Edward Tandy -- a cannibalistic serial killer with a fine taste for unique electronics, taxidermy, and of course human flesh. He has created a sick and twisted game of sorts in his deceased mother's home. He hopes to weed out the unintelligent and find those who are "worthy of escaping" by his late mother's standards. In THE BASEMENT, you and your team will have to employ keen communication skills, a finely tuned organizational prowess, and a general ability to keep your $h!t together under pressure if you want to survive. This is what we like to call a "funnel puzzle" where you will find numerous items and clues throughout the room. These items all come together to orchestrate your escape.

My first escape room ever! What a scary one to start with, but very fun

I loved the introduction to this experience, it really was highly immersive and got me into the mood. The story was fantastic and just enough to motivate what we were doing. The puzzling itself was pretty standard and it was difficult at certain points. Loved the set of this room as well as the actor, was great. Overall super fun room with a few scary moments but I recommend doing this room even if you're slightly unsure because it is a great experience!

There is a lot to love about this room, especially the pre-show introduction/set up. But it is BY FAR the worst room at this location. While the set and atmosphere is excellent, the gameplay is very lackluster (and I am not normally someone that cares all that much about good puzzles) and it felt like a letdown given all the hype. It very much feels like an early generation escape room dressed up in fancy haunted house clothes. That being said, you absolutely should go play all four rooms The Basement has to offer, in order. Just know that if you only come to play this one room you aren't getting the best The Basement has to offer.

The spooky and dark atmosphere in combination with the short time of only 45 minutes makes this room difficult to escape. My vision isn't the best and with the little time we had, it was definitely a challenge trying to navigate through some of the puzzles. Overall I found it more of a scavenger type of escape vs a linear Puzzle which isn't bad but just not my cup of tea.

This room is really tough to rate, because the actual game is pretty good, decent puzzles though it’s really just a lot of search puzzles. I really really didn’t like the live actor, because she became a part of the team, but a pushy overly hinting member of the team that honestly kinda of ruined the experience. But it’s hard to really poorly rate the room, because things were still better than your average escape room. But it was agreed upon by all 6 of us that it was by far the worst at The Basement.

We had a lot of fun in this room and our actor was the best! We liked it so much that we failed the first time and came back to win!

“... it’s an above average experience for sure.“
“The Basement was more in line with a horror survival video game...“
“From the sights and sounds, to the odors and textures, The Basement was on point.“
