Rating: 4.5/5 - What an awesome experience! It's greater than the sum of its parts, a must play for enthusiasts in the Midwest and worth traveling to, we drove 4+ hours from Indiana and it was worth it.
Pros:
-Unique 4 hour continuous story with 4 escape rooms tied together with a bonus room and hallway/alley
-Set was massive and mostly well done, it was immersive and appropriately weathered
-Good use of lighting and sound effects
-Story was fun and interesting
-Good amount of tech and it was nicely integrated
-Only a few padlocks and they were appropriate to the theme
-Nice variety of puzzles
-Helpful and friendly GM with fun theatrical interactions
-Cool superpower moments
Cons or things that could be improved:
-The superpowers felt a bit underutilized, each one only gets used once.
-Story could use a visual element, it's only told over audio which can be hard to follow
-Some puzzles did not feel intuitive enough and there were too many memory puzzles which we don't enjoy. Some puzzles were also very finicky to trigger.
-Their older areas, particularly City Reserve, felt very sparse and empty compared to the newer areas
-Many areas were too dark and we needed to write notes for some puzzles. For some reason they didn't provide a flashlight and writing pad until like 3/4 into the game, these should've been provided at the beginning, so we had to use our phones a lot for notes and as a light.
We played with 4 and would recommend 4-5 players.
