Ruins: Forbidden Treasure

Overall, my experience was not worth the money ($37 / person) due to the poor execution of the room and booking experience. The room itself was amazing, and if everything worked as intended, this might be my favorite escape room out of the 19 I’ve done. Unfortunately, 4 people were added to the room after my group already reserved 4 of the spots. So naturally, most of us stood around while a couple people solved the puzzles, not necessarily because they were domineering but because the space was pretty tight. We broke out in 35 minutes, so we didn’t really get our money’s worth. Moreover, the screens weren’t working, so we didn’t get the full plane crash-landing experience in the first room. This is tied for the worst escape room experience I’ve ever had. I highly discourage any escape room owner from allowing any additional extras in a room that’s already been booked for 4 spots; it totally ruined the experience for most of us.

Absolutely a blast! Definitely difficult, especially in some areas however if you have a varied team then it can be done.

This room was an absolute blast! It really felt like we were immersed in the jungle, and the set design was phenomenal. There was one puzzle that was a bit challenging for us since it relied on some trial and error, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. The finale was especially exciting—the combination of the puzzles and the music made it incredibly fun and exhilarating. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this room!

The website does state that you can get booked with others. This isn't new for Escape Games, but I would usually get a courtesy heads up that another group would be joining. There was no heads up this time.

Probably in my top 3 favorite escape rooms. Played with two experienced puzzlers, would recommend 4 or more for less experienced people. This room is slightly altered in other locations. Played it in NYC as well and there were a couple of puzzles omitted.

Came to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday! This room was incredible! I think it is the best game I’ve seen as far as physical puzzles! So many amazing moments and moving components!

Probably my favorite room by TEG!!! We have played many of their games in several cities and always have a blast. Our GM for this game gave just the right number of nudges to keep us moving along. The set design is beautiful and the tech is amazing. Such a fun experience for our whole team!

I’ve done over 200 rooms, including all the escape game rooms around the US, and I can easily say that this room is one of my top 2 rooms of all time! The physical aspects of the game, combined with the mental puzzles was perfect! The special effects in the beginning and during a certain puzzle in the beginning were out of this world. SOOOO GOOD!

Top 3 games. We ended up skipping 2 whole challenges (a key lock and a numbers lock) because I figured out something with my curiosity hahahah. Plus there was a challenge that I conveniently got correct on the first try and skipped solving that when it was right away!!! They said 10% -15% of people that play with just two people escape. I got super scared of the skeleton and our host laughed so hard. We made his day!

8/10 If you know escape rooms then you are familiar with The Escape Game. Ruins: Forbidden Treasure is by far their best game. The set design and gameplay make this their flagship for a reason. If you happen to find yourself in the greater Nashville area, I highly recommend making a stop.
