An old legend tells the tale of the cowardly murder of Saint-Rumoldus, patron saint of Mechelen, around the year 770. In the vicinity of Mechelen, deep in the forests of the rural town of Hombeek, Rumoldus realised his plan to build a small church. Much against the custom of his time, he paid his construction crew a fair salary for their work, leading the locals to suspect that Rumoldus had to be exceptionally wealthy. During an evening stroll on the church grounds one night, Rumoldus was mugged by two men. They beat him to death and robbed him of what little money he had on him, before dumping his body in the river Dijle and fleeing the crime scene. A couple of days later, a passerby noticed a magical light shining over the water. Rumoldus’ body was recovered from the water and serenely laid out in the church. Ever since, a devoted congregation has been watching over his grave and church. Every now and then, ‘miracles’ occur in the church of Saint-Rumoldus: tears start to well up in the eyes of the saint statues, candles suddenly light up near the shrine… That is why believers from all corners of the country come to visit the church to honour Saint-Rumoldus. Out of the blue, you receive a call from pastor Albay, nowadays the custodian of the church. Impressed and driven to despair by recent “abnormal activities”, the priest was forced to flee from the church. He now needs your help to find out what is going on and to discover the cause of the miracles…

I loved everything about this room. The setting, gameplay and decor were just flawless. Nothing felt out of place and the puzzles were vere well integrated with the room. The only negative point i would have is that I didnt like the ending of the story. The puzzle at the end also felt a little bit repetitive. But this is such a minor point in comparisson to the whole room and I think its just my opinion, others would love it I am sure! Go play this room first if you go do their escape experiences. It is awesome and the second one will blow your mind even more!

This was a really fun experience for Kelly’s 100th room. Great set, fun puzzles and the story was also very good.

We loved the story arc and the ending. It was such a surprise and fun climax. The set design was really spectacular and there was so much built inside which included highly detailed props. The only small negative would be that the atmosphere seemed quite flat at times. The space was so big and yet we could easily hear one another from the furthest points - so more sound/music would have perhaps created deeper immersion, as would other effects like smoke, lighting etc.

10/10 Another perfect experience from De Gouden Koi. Their games are truly next level. The story was hilarious, yet spooky, the puzzles were perfectly balanced between difficult and original, the space and set design were jaw dropping. WOW after WOW after WOW! Highly recommend this game. Can’t wait to play it again.

This was the first escape 'experience' I don't rather than just a room. It was brilliant and deserves to be in the top 100 in the world. So may rooms and puzzles, fantastically set out. I would love to do others with this company

Easily one of the best escape rooms I've done to date! The atmosphere, puzzles/puzzle logic and storyline was fantastic! Absolutely worth the trip if you're in that region!

Awesome room overall - great build, great puzzles, great story. It’s probably best suited for four players. My husband and struggled with just the two of us and needed some extra time to finish.
