Your business card might say ‘Real Estate Agent’, but that’s only part of the story. You work for S.C.A.R.E. (Supernatural Consultancy And Real Estate) a quirky agency that specialises in haunted properties. One day you’re sent to inspect a dilapidated and abandoned toy shop. Tucked down an alleyway in the old part of town, the shop has been empty for over 70 years. Lately, however, strange noises and lights have been reported coming from inside. It’s your job to venture in and discover the truth. Is it really haunted? Why is it locked up? And what happened to the owner, Mr Pepper?

Another absolutely incredible experience at The Cipher Room. The theming and atmosphere were expertly crafted, with exquisite props and clever/unique puzzles. There's actually quite a lot of tech but it's all so well-hidden that it doesn't affect the immersion. No live actors but multiple jump scares to keep you on your toes. There were so many instances where we were left in awe of the design and revelations. And the ending was once again a jaw-dropper. All the rooms we've done at here have been mindblowingly fun for the whole family. If there's one escape room establishment to recommend in Sydney (or perhaps all of Australia) it would invariably be Cipher.

We had been to a few rooms in Sydney while on holiday for a few days and always ask what the best company other than them is. They all said Cypher rooms. So we booked into Mr Peppers Toy Shop. The first thing I noticed was the atmosphere. I really felt immersed in the room. The second thing I noticed as the game started was the build quality of the puzzles. All of the electronics were beautifully hidden, to the point where I'm still not sure how their sensors worked and where they were hidden, and as someone that has built escape rooms before that is surprising. The theatrics were great and in keeping with the theme and story. Staff were good but I felt that their system of providing clues via speaker was a bit tricky as the background noise in the room makes it hard to hear them. Excellent room A+

What a great company! The sets and props were so cool that it was fun just to look around and take it all in. The puzzles had a wonderful flow and were unique. It was always clear what should be happening next. The plot developed throughout the game play to lead to a very satisfying end. There are a few jump scares, but we took our somewhat wimpy 12 year-old and he made it through AND enjoyed it. The best is that there is a big surprise that had me screaming with excitement when it happened. I won't say more so you can enjoy it just as much as we did. Also, the staff and owners were delightful. I love meeting awesome creators around the world.

This was my fiftieth room, and I am so glad I travelled interstate to experience ‘Mr Pepper’s Toy Shop’. The props, set design and storyline provided a rich foundation to the experience, allowing the puzzles to propel you along to the terrifying conclusion of the room. It was incredible — there’s a reason this room ranks so highly.

Easily one of my face escape rooms of all time! The way it was designed was incredible, and the fear factor really adds to the theme and excitement. I cannot recommend this room enough.
