Genuinely one of the BEST rooms I've ever played. Some of the puzzles weren't ground breaking but most tied perfectly into the theme and were so fun to see/do! I also loved how unique the story was and the quirkiness was just enough to not be cringe :) after playing all but one of their rooms, I can definitely say the story driven ones are the best ones they have

Captain Train is highly recommended! I was looking forward to it when I made the reservation, and it was a pleasant surprise! Stepping into this setting and starting the game felt like entering a black-and-white comic world. It's a rare escape room with a creative setting and a complete storyline. It's a 75-minute game with multiple rooms, simulating the narrow space of a train carriage. It's best for 2-3 people, as a larger group might find it cramped. The puzzles are mostly mechanical, with a single linear puzzle path and a few combination locks that don’t detract from the experience. It’s packed with high-tech elements, including extensive animations, projections combined with props to present the story, and many screens around the carriage. These screens not only enhance the atmosphere but also provide hints during the early stages and become critical in later puzzles. The puzzles are not too difficult and progress logically. We managed to complete it without asking for hints (mainly because we didn’t know how to ask; we learned afterward that you need to wave, lol). It was really fun and made us consider bringing this theme to Toronto. However, seeing the wall full of flashing PLCs near the exit was quite daunting. The price is $37.99 for a 75-minute escape room, making it highly cost-effective and not to be missed!

This game was truly one of a kind. The art style, the tech, the references, the story, all of it. Incredibly well done. The puzzles are challenging, but not insane. Progression is clear from puzzle to puzzle. Lots of deduction on this puzzle. My hats off to Rick, Dold, and the GM team. Quality game. Next time I’m in Orlando, hope to see more.

We read reviews all the time that say “we do a lot of escape rooms…“ But we really do do a lot of escape rooms and this was hands-down one of the most creative and entertaining room we’ve been to! A fun challenge, a great storyline and honestly, it’s just great to see somebody doing something different and seeing passion in the room and for the game! Definitely recommend!

This room blew our minds! The puzzled flowed well and it was really immersive. Our GM was fantastic and helpful when we needed her! We can’t wait to go back!

This room is INSANE! There’s a buildup towards the end of the room where it climaxes and it pulls everything together. My husband and I truly had to work together even more-so in this room than any previous room we’ve been in. We will definitely be back to finish their other rooms.

This is a really tough one to rate. I’m erring on the side of a “slight thumbs up”, solely on the creative aspects of the room alone. It’s extremely impressive and commendable to see how much creativity, originality and work went into Crazy Train, pulling tremendous inspiration from 1920s cartoon serials. Original animation, music, voice work and more are just some of the great high points on display. The problem we had was, save for a few very entertaining moments, it wasn’t really fun to play. In fact, for most of the 75 minutes, it felt like a sluggish chore, and most of the puzzles were more annoying than fun to complete. When it works, it works really well. When it doesn’t, you really feel it. Certain puzzles and sections are artificially confusing, boring or just uninteresting, dragging on way too long instead of keeping a light pace, which is especially strange given Crazy Train’s madcap cartoon thematics. It’s upsetting to have to say this, because these pacing issues drag down what could have been an otherwise brisk, breezy, light hearted experience. Instead, it feels like it takes way too long to get things going, keep things going, and end things, hampering a lot of the fun and creativity on display. Everything else is really great, and I know that’s strange to say because this room struggles in the area that probably matters most, the gameplay. You can’t have the look and feel of a good room and not have the gameplay match its energy. If a lot of puzzles were tweaked and the logic not so obtuse, the entire thing would be perfect. It has all the makings of a perfect room, but I just can’t really recommend it from a “fun” standpoint. Unless you are there to appreciate all the work and artistry that went into this, you may not really have a good time.

Excellent room! The theme was hilarious. It was clear the designer put in a lot of effort to include all sorts of jokes in it. All puzzles were logical. No red herrings. Doable with two experienced escape artists. I appreciate how 75 minutes are given to finish instead of the uniform 60.

Crazy Train was a mind-blowing work of art. The amount of time and effort spent creating this masterpiece is astounding. There are lots of fun animations and great use of projector mapping that Doldricks is known for. The game was the perfect difficulty level for an enthusiast.
