You and your friends have volunteered yourselves for a group experiment based on teamwork. Sure, the scientist running the experiment seems a little absent-minded and may even forget his own name at times, but you're all still excited to see what's in store if you complete his crazy puzzles in time. You and your assigned team must find ways to work together efficiently and solve several colorful puzzles across many different areas. Good communication is as important as any key you come across!

A fantastic game in need of maintenance

Tech was a bit janky. Game master stepped in for support though.

When we played, a fundamental aspect of gameplay was broken, but if it had been working properly, it wouldโve made for one of the most interesting games weโve played. Even with that issue, the newbies in our group (who made up the vast majority of the group), loved the experience, and we, their more experienced hosts, still had a good time.

What made this room special is the amount of collaboration needed between the 3 groups. The set is fine, the puzzles are good, but wow, they do a great job of making you work together! I would recommend solely based off of that and the clean puzzle flow. Youโll need a good game master to help keep everyone on track too.

Another absolute banger from Escape Hour - This room is best for larger groups and requires strong communication and trust if you want to escape. We experienced this game with 6 people and that felt like it was the perfect amount, however, I can see much larger groups participating in this room and still enjoying themselves. Puzzles are solid, and the environment is immersive.

This game plays well with a larger group, even of experienced players. Itโs old school fun and makes the typical split cell mechanic feel fresh.

This is a nice big room where you have to have a larger group. I'm used to being able to do rooms with just 2 people, but this one needs at *least* 3, and I'd recommend 6. There's three areas, so it's good to have 2 in each. It's an older room, but is very cool.

One of the older rooms at Escape Hour but still fun and not everything was locks. You can see wear and tear in area and of course some tech were broken but nothing that affected the gameplay. It was fun! Youโre separated into different rooms and have to Learn to communicate effectively while solving your own puzzles. Minimal required number of people is 6 for a reason. There is a lot to do and we need help in some areas. But my group was able to complete it and it was exciting! Some of us want to do it again!

This room is only going to be open a few more months before they replace / revamp it. It is challenging for sure and you need not just a great team but more like you need 3 strong teams since the โseparate room/teamโ is basically the entire time and not just โat the beginningโ like most rooms. I really enjoyed it overall because it was โdifferentโ and โchallengingโ in a way that most rooms Iโve seen have been. Escape Hour is now my favorite place in Austin that is local only (non- chain US wide) so if youโre reading this and either a local or travel escape enthusiast, make sure you put Escape Hour at the top of your Austin to-do list!!
