I love pirate themed rooms! This one was incredible and we definitely had a great time. There was one puzzle that didn’t work for us and the mermaid was broken, but other than that, fantastic time.

Really tough room, wasn’t told beforehand that it’s nearly impossible with only 4 people. Outstanding room, but would have prepared better had we known.

Cutthroat Cavern is a one of a kind game at a one of a kind company. This is one, if not the best games you could play. It is worth traveling any distance to play this game.

Puzzles

Large scale gameplay that makes you feel like a movie character.

Atmosphere

The best set I have ever encountered, coupled with several jaw-dropping reveals.

There were a couple puzzles that were beyond our visual capability and we had to ask for the solution. The staff obviously hears this a lot and just ignores the feedback. That being said, the sets are incredible, full stop. Most puzzles are well designed and fun, but being fully unable to read something when you’re staring right at it was a mood killer for us.

The set design of this room was immaculate. Even though we had one puzzle that broke as we were playing, the guided us through it. I would highly recommend this room!

For this we got paired with a family of six--dad, mom, three kids, and an exchange student from España. They were inexperienced at escape rooms, which meant we spent too much time trying to orient them to what the puzzles were like, but they were much better than giggly pubescent girls. Cutthroat Cavern was very much a Goonies-themed room. And it's production value exceeded even Spellbound. The scope was amazing. Sean Aston and Cory Feldman didn't have this much fun filming Goonies. There were some truly amazing moments. Lots of them. And I am sure we lost time as we just gazed at our surroundings in awe. Clues were given through a talking parrot that was not only hard to understand, but gave very unhelpful clues. So again, not my favorite part. Also, they tell you at the beginning that you only use the objects once. It's a one-and-done room. But that was not true of one object. So we did need a clue to discover that we needed to go back and check the thing we had already used once.

Can’t believe I just celebrated my 200th room at Cut Throat Cavern. Such a fun game with some amazing reveals. Thank you to my team and especially Tracy for making this such a special day. I got my very own treasure chest hidden away in the room. Which contained pirates booty and personalized notes from other enthusiasts, owners and family.
