This is one of my favorite rooms. The main mechanic of this room involves interacting with the smart home. I had a blast talking to the AI and the GM loved watching us take advantage of the AI system as well. Over 400 responses are programed into the system through Google API, so enjoy it! The atmosphere is great and Steal and Escape really cares about their immersion. Something that I really appreciated for this room was that it was very clear what opened when you solved a puzzle (I.e. there are announcements saying which drawer # opened). Not very many traditional locks and the ending was fun! This is the room that really kick started my love for escape rooms!

Amazing tech. Great staff. Linear game flow. Almost no physical locks which was a nice change of pace. Would be good for beginners/intermediates.

I really liked the ingenuity of this room. Everything was exciting to interact with, i like the concept of a “break-in” versus an escape as well. The story was hard to understand, and i think i just went along with it. Not sure you needed to fully understand plot because we did just fine pulling out the necessary info to solve puzzles. Last section of the game was my favorite.

One of my favorite escape rooms in SD. I completed this room with a party of 4 and thought that was the perfect number of players. I really love heist or break in type rooms where you’re sneaking into someplace you’re not supposed to be and this room executed that atmosphere perfectly. The room was very nonlinear and all of the space was utilized well with a variety of puzzles. There is a good balance between tech and mechanical puzzles and everything worked well. I mentioned this room is a little spooky just because it’s a little dark and you constantly feel like you’re going to get caught, but there’s nothing paranormal or scary about it. Easily my favorite room at Steal and Escape. I recommend this room to all my friends.

My wife and I were the first ones to do this room after the owner created it... Such a fun game!! There were a few glitches that required us to pause the room while he fixed things, but it didn't take away from the experience. He gave us a voucher to do another room for free because of the glitches. Even still, Highly recommend... Super nice owners and really fun rooms!

What a fun room! The story line was so clever, and allowed for some innovative puzzles and tasks. There were a couple of parts where the clues to the next step were too subtle and we were left wondering “what are we supposed to be working on now?” But overall a great game.

This room remains one of my favorites. The tech involved brings the game to the next level. And this is one of those games you want to replay again and again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our game, as it surprised us with some things we haven’t seen in any other escape rooms before. The story is on the simpler side, as in the end goal is easily understood. That said, the game manages to add real depth to the story with loads of information that can be discovered as you progress, and with an authentic feeling environment. The way you can interact with the game is genius, and by the end of the game you feel like you almost have a bond with the main character of the game. The puzzles are pretty solid, and especially in the last parts of the game become great, with really cool usage of tech that we haven’t seen anywhere else. If you’re around San Diego I’d definitely recommend to play this game!

Really liked this one. The ambiance and decor was well done. Plenty of space to move around too, which was a nice change from many other rooms we’ve done. The AI aspect was cool, added another level of immersion into the game. Would be better with 3 people but we did it with just 2.

Good family fun. Lots of great tech and some interesting puzzles. We had a lot of laughs - mostly at our own expense- in this room. Can’t wait to do the others here.
“The tech was the star of the show in The Neighbor. It was reliable and was creatively utilized... “
