You have been unpacking for a week now as you continue to explore every nook and cranny in your new six-room house. You now understand why the locals were so weary of this house and always avoided it. There are however still some areas you have yet to fully search. One day as you were putting your groceries in the pantry for the first time, you notice a small crease in the wall. You put your hand up to the wall and realize it is actually an indentation. You grab your box cutter that you were just using and poke it right through the gaudy wallpaper that you wanted to replace anyway. You pull the blade across the wall. You hit a hard beam. You turn the blade downward and slice vertically to the floor. As you make the final cut through the wallpaper, the wall opens up and a doorway appears. Before you lies a small six-foot hallway with a door at the end of it. You walk six feet down the hallway to the door and grab the handle. It’s locked. You are glad because you’ve seen enough horror movies to know that you really didn’t want to know what was behind that door. With a sigh of relief, you turn around and walk back towards the kitchen. You take three steps forward, when an icy-cold wind blows right through you, taking the breath out of you. You stop in your tracks. You hear a loud creaking sound behind you. You turn around. The door is open. Again, you’ve seen enough horror movies to know that you shouldn’t so anywhere near that door. But, just as you – the Hardings – were called to this house, you are being called to this doorway. You physically can’t help it. You feel yourself being pulled to the doorway. You find yourself peering down into a dimly-lit basement. Again, you have seen enough horror movies to know that you don’t want to go down those stairs. But, yet again, you are physically pulled by some force down the stairs. The next thing you know you are standing on the cold concrete floor, staring up at the bright light emanating from the only way into and out of the basement. You feel the icy-cold wind again. The door slams shut and locks. The lights go out. You now find yourself trapped in the Seventh Room.

Beautiful room! There was SO much to do and so many elements that interconnected it was almost overwhelming. There were multiple levels to this game so come prepared to be slightly active! One of the best rooms I’ve done! We had a small mishap in our room because of the game reset, but the staff was fantastic about it.

My favorite room to date! I cannot say enough good things about this room and the company! I love love love this room! They have a way of scaring you that is unlike any other escape room. The immersion is still to this day unbelievable. This was our first room at Dare 2 Escape and it left us craving for more. It is the first company that we have completed all the major rooms with and I actually got very sad upon realizing this. What an amazing company filled with beautifully written and designed rooms with absolute stellar game hosts (we had multiple hosts who were all amazing!)

Me and my partner absolutely loved this room. We are horror junkies and it gave us just the amount of uneasy to be on our toes but not to prohibit our brains from working in the room. About 30 minutes in we became comfortable with the spooky atmosphere of the room and settled in to the fact that this is on us. Parts of this room had moments of very low lighting, no lighting at all, climbing, crawling. If you’re going to play this room make sure you have at least one person in your party that is willing to climb and has the ability to do so. The low lighting made easy puzzles frustrating at times but we got through it. Prior to entering the room the GM warns you about moments of isolation and since it was just the two of us there were times where we both had to be totally isolated from one another and those parts were some of the coolest in the room. After we escaped it was definitely one of our biggest car ride home talking points. We also loved how a lot of it felt like we were right in a conjuring movie. We only played with the 2 of us and had an absolutely unforgettable experience.

We originally planned to play 6 of the rooms here (yes all in the same day, back to back). I’m a HUGE CHICKEN, I don’t like haunted houses, scary rooms, live actors jump scares etc. The owner and staff highly encouraged us to play this room and I am sooooo glad we did. What an amazing experience I will NEVER forget this room. There were so many elements that will keep it memorable. We asked for a non scary version and they definitely toned it down but it was still heavily spooky bordering on scary and that’s more because of the immersive environment, the special effects and well… my own mind playing tricks on me (or maybe they weren’t tricks, maybe it was real) either way this room will forever hold a special place in my heart because there are a lot of firsts in an escape room and in life for me.

This room could and should have been so much better than it was. The concept was great, the surprises were many, the game flow had some truly unique aspects. But it was SO FRUSTRATING. Most of the puzzles were not actually difficult, except for the fact that the lighting in the room - in an attempt to keep with the horror aesthetic - was too friggin dark to see the clues. When we only can’t solve a puzzle for five minutes because all three of us are straining to read the numbered plaque because it’s too dark to see, that’s not a good puzzle or even a challenging puzzle, it’s just a poor design. That happened multiple times throughout the room - the puzzles were only time consuming because we couldn’t see the clues in the low lighting. And there was another puzzle that was only challenging because the lock was physically difficult to reach. Both of those aspects would be easy to fix. Just increase the lighting slightly or give us flashlights, and move the obstacle out of the way of that lock. And if they did both of those things, this would be a 10/10 room for me.
