I think this may be the weakest room at The Escape Game. Theming and atmosphere started strong but ended weak, some puzzles were interesting but others either had red herrings or were worn-out, or hard to operate. Overall it felt like there wasn't a lot of engaging or fun gameplay. It had its moments, but wasn't really worth it for my group and I would recommend trying the other rooms instead.

I wanted to like this room and it would have been a better experience under different circumstances. Having strangers in the room with us felt like a blind date. Nothing against the players that joined us — but it does switch up the group dynamics. It did get a little crunchy and moist in there with 6 players. The first half of the room was amazing and I wished it expanded on that theme. The second half of the room got a little messy since it was like using a different part of our brains. There might have been an argument in there somewhere. This company does produce some amazing sets. The reveal walking in was their wow moment, which was a strong start. Without giving things away, the last room was kinda bland (but worked for what they were going for). Thematically the puzzles blended really well with the storyline, especially during the first half. Pretty cool room and there were some fun moments. I would come back later if they ever make the rooms private and hopefully it would be a better experience.

Special Ops is a fun experience, heavy on narrative and theming. Initially not as linear but then becomes very linear later on. Not a tremendous amount of puzzles but still a fun time

I've done about half of all The Escape Game rooms, and I think this is probably my favourite one in terms of theming. First room is very open where your group can split off and do their own things. The second room is a very stark contrast both in linearity and in one other facet that I can't say without spoiling.

Loved the very kinetic and sensory puzzles… smell, touch, texture, color. a rich environment and intriguing puzzles.

I did this with myself and my girlfriend. Two was a great number because it wasn’t a very large room and I could see tripping over people with more bodies running around. This game felt like a story mission from Uncharted mixed with Call of Duty. There were some very interesting puzzles and ideas in this room that I appreciated. The atmosphere did feel like you were in a market on the other side of the globe and that was such a cool feeling even though we know we were right there in Irvine. The Escape Game really does put a lot into their games and this was no exception.

Neat variation of a CIA game with great sets and unexpected elements. True to Escape Game quality. GMs included some personalization since we were celebrating birthdays - very nice touch! Solid game but as with all Escape Game experiences, wish they’d change to a private room model.
