Your business card might say ‘Real Estate Agent’, but that’s only part of the story. You work for S.C.A.R.E. (Supernatural Consultancy And Real Estate) a quirky agency that specialises in haunted properties. One day you’re sent to inspect a dilapidated and abandoned toy shop. Tucked down an alleyway in the old part of town, the shop has been empty for over 70 years. Lately, however, strange noises and lights have been reported coming from inside. It’s your job to venture in and discover the truth. Is it really haunted? Why is it locked up? And what happened to the owner, Mr Pepper?

We completed this room in a trip down from Brisbane. Our experienced group of five completed with no clues and found the puzzles just the right level of challenge to make you think without being super frustrating. The atmosphere was incredible and a few jump scares had us laughing at ourselves. The theming was spot on and there were a few WOW moments including the incredible finale. No idea how they pulled it off. We loved this experience so much we immediately booked two more rooms with Cipher for our trip and loved them too. This has risen to the top of my list of favourites.

I have nothing but praise for this company. You shop was a very well designed room of eerie and clever puzzle design. I love how the puzzles were multi layers and non linear for most of the game. Some fun toy based puzzles that definitely made me smile. Also, some great tech elements that really enhanced the immersive story. And the finale, have to see to believe A++

Plunged straight into my all-time favourites, Mr. Pepper's puzzles, in line with The Cipher Room's esteemed reputation, maintain an outstanding standard. They present a delightful mix of challenge and diversity, incorporating elements of hunt and seek for an added layer of enjoyment. The seamless integration of props into the room theming enhances the overall immersive experience. Despite its inherently dark theme, the game cultivates an eerie atmosphere rather than relying on outright fear. Unlike scenarios with NPCs jumping out at you, the focus is on immersing players in Mr. Pepper's world. While not shying away from well-timed jump scares, the overarching intent is to craft an engaging and immersive journey rather than relying on constant frights. There is one particular exhilarating moment throughout that creates a profound sense of euphoria, you won't miss it and I can honestly say I have never encountered anything like it before. Having completed this room, I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow Escapers, encouraging them to explore the unparalleled quality that defines The Cipher Room.

Wow, what a sensational room! One of the best rooms we’ve ever done. The excellent suspense and atmosphere is owed to the fantastic theming and immersion. A must do for any escape enthusiast!

Even before you go into the room the whole warehouse gave me slight chilly vibes then to add to that the incredibly tall, wry smile of the GM who seemed to glide up behind you without a sound was enough to send me on my edge (he was amazing!) before I even got into the room…. The room itself was good, puzzles were difficult enough to be interesting… but the production value at certain points just blew my mind… wow!

Amazing room!!! Great theme & set design. Had some puzzles that we have never seen before which was great!!! Can’t wait to do the others.

A wonderful room, really immersive, superb set design, nice gamemaster, unique puzzles and really good flow of those, nice special effects and mechanical/technical side to the puzzles. With Cipher Room you really can‘t go wrong. We usually don‘t like doing scary rooms but still though wanted to do this one; and what a treat it was!! Definitely not too scary, jump scares are scarcely spread out over the whole room, and are easy on your heart ;D What makes this room so good is the story you follow along, the perfect decoration, the good flow of the puzzles and definitely the ending :) there‘s like a finale and it is really good ;) keep your eyes open, it‘s really worth it!!

Some great puzzles, but I was perhaps expecting too much. Still enjoyed the room, but it wasn’t amazing. In terms of scariness, I had just done Scram's F.E.A.R and this one just cannot compare. The final section also felt a little short and at the end, long. One clue used. (Prompted, Unlimited allowed) The metal pin you get after completing the game is cool but the rooms also are a bit more pricy. (Price increased around mid this year.)
