The Crypt - Fallen SkyEscapepolis SpectroomEscape roomIRLThis is a stunning escape room. It’s an experience and the set is unlike anything I’ve seen before. There’s a cheeky moments which bring some much needed comic relief during the game. Whilst this isn’t a horror game per se, it could be interpreted as quite atmospherically eerie/overwhelming. The puzzles are straightforward once you know what you’re doing. A real masterpiece.

Το Σανατόριο [The Sanatorium]Lockhill - MetaxourghioEscape roomIRLI hated this experience. The warm welcome from the actor already in character was my favourite part. Even in ‘daylight’ mode the set is smoky, dirty and part of it even smells like sewage. It’s very atmospheric but you feel like your psyche needs a shower afterwards. Not for the faint hearted and unfortunately I am incredibly faint of heart! 😂 When you are so nervous and afraid it stops being about enjoyment and appreciation and becomes something you are just enduring to get out and get a coffee. I couldn’t wait for the room to end. I must stress, this is very personal and my partner and I appreciated that the puzzles were more complex than we were expecting for this level of horror room.
The MaidVansa Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis was the first room we did on our Athens escape room trip and it did not disappoint. We thought it was going to be quite scary but it wasn’t. This is definitely not a horror room but it has creepy element to it. It’s atmospheric but not in a smoke and torches sort of way. This was more about how a seemingly simple story unfolds into something else entirely and you’re along for the journey figuring it out. There’s tons of great puzzles to do and a few that we were stumped on. The GM was great, not in character but it didn’t detract from the experience, he was kind and nudged us at exactly the right moments. We loved this room and definitely recommend to all - horror and non horror lovers.
