    We really enjoyed this game. It was logical, fun and very well themed. Julie our GM was on point with nudges when needed. It is pretty much linear so best to be played by 2 - 4 players otherwise you might be playing “follow the leader”.

    We didn’t realize that the games at Hourglass Escape in Tallahassee are the exact same games as Mystique in Lake Mary until we were actually in the Secrets of the Pharaohs game which we had played a year earlier. We have played so many Egyptian games that we didn’t make the connection with the name. We still had fun and incidentally struggles with the same puzzle in both locations lol. Fortunately we hadn’t played the other two games at Mystique so after Pharaoh we had a new game to play.

    The game itself is fine but in order to get a hint you have to contact the manager via walk ie talk ie. He is busy with other things as they also run ax throwing in the same location. Several times we waited for awhile until he came in and then had to explain to him what we needed to solve. Totally breaks immersion and wastes time.

    It is only a 30 minute room but the price was not that much less than their 60 games. They only used about half of the room and could have been so much more than it was. We really wanted to play a Christmas game so that is why we chose this one.

    This location has a 4.9 google rating but I think it is mostly from first time or only time players. If you have never played an Escape Game before it was probably cool. If you have played a few or more you see how lacking this location and its sister location a few miles away are. The Owners spent some money putting this place together but then left it in the hands of what appears to be high school drop outs. I won’t call them Game Masters but rather disinterested employees. I’m also assuming that the Owners are not really into either or they would make the effort to repair their games and to respond to google reviews.
