NevermoreNocturne AdventuresEscape roomIRLNevermore is nothing short of spectacular! The set is elegantly stunning and the puzzles are well integrated and flow smoothly. There were so many ooohhh and aaaahhhhs as the game played out. Also the music changes added to the immersion and lighting and tech delicately tucked away until its time. This game is nothing short of magical! Nevermore may sound spooky, but this is NOT a scary game at all! It takes place in a dimly lit Victorian manor, but is totally family friendly. The owners told us afterwards that they’ve had kids as young as 8 play and their parents tasked them to help search for items or unlock locks and they enjoyed it just as well! A few other things to note about this game (and really the owners): this place is one of those hidden gems where they’ve created rooms with so much passion behind it that you can feel it as you play! This and their other game Ripper were completely custom built to their design which offers such a unique and fluid game! In Nevermore, things like small lights in drawers and on shelves to help you see is so thoughtful instead of having players struggle just to search for clues. As well, they offer unlimited hints AND no hard time limit so that all guest get to see it through to the end making this top notch in your entertainment value! And another things to note: go ahead and book BOTH games back to back! If you do, then you’ll get access to their Nocturne Adventures VIP Lounge which includes snacks and water! (Simple and so thoughtful!) This would make an incredible night out with friends and family or a company team building workshop right here in Hickory!
RipperNocturne AdventuresEscape roomIRLThe level of creativity and talent that was put into this game was unbelievable! All of the decor and game pieces were thoughtfully placed with just the right balance needed to feel well immersed without being overwhelmed or cluttered. The puzzle craft was top notch and the flow of the game was super smooth. And if you get stuck, they have a crafty integrated hint system so you're not left working on one puzzle for 20 minutes. They definitely want their gamers to feel entertained and not frustrated. Their escape room was different in that you weren't held against a time constraint; this means you could put all your focus on the puzzle and not have to jump out to go look at a timer. As well, there was ample ambiance to get you absorbed into their exciting story which intensified as it carried on. This added to the excitement since we felt like it was now a race against our impending doom! Music and lighting changes, live actor, a gritty story; it was incredibly intense and so worth it! They nailed it!
