Nevermore

I played Nevermore in October and am just getting around to leaving a review—on the day TERPECA results came out and Nevermore made the list!! 🙌 Nicole and Tom are so deserving of the honor. Nevermore transported me to Poe’s world, I loved every second of it. The artistry is stunning and the puzzles flowed nicely and made sense in the setting/story. Nicole and Tom’s experience in the haunt world really comes through in the best possible way (impressive since this isn’t a “horror” room). And, they’re amazing hosts to boot. Worth the trip to play. Can’t wait for whatever they come up with next!

Nocturne Adventures is a must do-if you’re even close to Hickory, NC, make your way there, you won’t be disappointed!

This room was amazing. The second I walked in I could tell the amount of love and effort put into the room. Every puzzle made sense and fit the time period perfectly. The set design was extremely detailed and mesmerizing to look at. Tom and Nicole were super nice to talk to and you could tell just how passionate they were about the room.

Our experience with Nevermore felt like stepping directly into a cinematic world! The pacing of the story, the way each beat unfolded, and the beautifully choreographed ambient music created a sense of momentum that never let up. Every interaction in the room worked flawlessly! No technical hiccups, no immersion‑breaking moments, just a seamless, fully realized narrative from start to finish. The room is packed with both grand gestures and subtle details that showcase exceptional craftsmanship. You can feel the creators’ talent in every element: the storytelling, the lighting design, the soundscape, the set construction, and the overall aesthetic vision. All elements of immersive design came together more cohesively than hundreds of other escape rooms we’ve experienced. Afterward, we had the chance to meet Nicole and Tom, the minds behind Nevermore, and it immediately made sense why the experience felt so polished and distinctive. Their background in haunted attractions and video game development clearly informs their work, and their passion for immersive entertainment shines through in every choice they’ve made. They were warm, generous, and genuinely excited to share their unique visions with players. I’ve done hundreds of escape rooms and rarely feel compelled to write reviews, but this one absolutely deserves it. We feel incredibly lucky to have stumbled upon this gem and grateful that Nicole and Tom are sharing their artistry and unique vision with the public.

Fantastic! My husband, prior to this room, was fairly “meh” about previous escape rooms, but this one floored him! Absolutely loved the ambience, puzzles were fun and pathway through was clear. A true work of art!

Phenomenal, I've done dozens of rooms and this is top 3. Both atmosphere and puzzles are top notch, no notes. I wish this could be everyone's first escape room. Nichole and Tom are so lovely and thoughtful. If like me you're never sure about something with live actors, know that this is exceptionally done here, a light touch, isn't awkward, and greatly enhanced the experience.

Absolutely brilliant room! An immersive experience filled with smart, logical puzzles and stunning set design. The audio and lighting were top-notch and incredibly professional. We were surprised when we arrived that Waze led us to a residential neighborhood—but don’t let that deter you! This place is an absolute gem.

This experience for me was just 🤌🏻 chefs kiss. We were just so immersed in the world that they had created here and the story they were telling. It was just fabulous.

Another home run for Nocturne! The puzzles were some of the best I’ve done in my over 200+ games! The story was beautiful and the set/lighting/audio was superb! You definitely are transported to these worlds in Nocturne games! Well worth it for beginners or enthusiasts!

If I could have Nevermore be every new players first escape room, I would make that happen. It is such a good combination of story, atmosphere, simple puzzling, and everything else you could think of. I loved the take on the Raven, the other nods to Poe’s works were subtle but effective. I really loved this game and think everyone young and old, new enthusiast and experienced should play this game. Come to Nocturne, it is absolutely worth it in every way!
