Der Spielzeugmacher [Toy Maker]Big Break HamburgEscape roomIRLJust WOW! I loved every second of being in this room. So much detail in the decoration and you can clearly see how much effort went into designing the game flow and every single puzzle. It’s one of the few rooms where I immediately thought “I’ll play it again even” though I know the solutions because there are so many additional things to spot, easter eggs and fun details. I am sure there are even more things to see the second time.
The Lost Treasure Of Alexander Von HumboldtThe RoomEscape roomIRLLoved the setting and the effects. Good variety of tasks and puzzles to solve. We played with just 2 players which I think was a good amount as with more players it might have been crowed in some areas and/or hard to see what is going on for everyone.
Metropolis 2099Dream LabsEscape roomIRLStunning room - extremely high quality setting with lots of attention to detail. Staring at the intro all the way through until the debrief a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s a story-driven immersive adventure in a dystopian future. You have to do tasks along the story line with drive the plot forward and fit all well with the theme. Almost no logical/combinatorial puzzles, more heavy on the search, find, and place/use side of tasks. Given the overall high intense plot, we were a little bit underwhelmed by the ending of the story but that’s complaining on a very high level. An absolute must-play for lovers of story-heavy immersive adventures.
Geisterjäger Brandon Darkmoor [Ghosthunter Brandon Darkmoor]The RoomEscape roomIRLSuper fun experience. :) Not really an escape room, definitely more an immersive adventure. Very linear along a compelling story, i think the idea number of players is 3 with more there are lots of tasks where the others basically just stand by and watch. Very cool sound and light effects, great fun elements in between. Definitely a must play for everyone who is into story-heavy immersive experiences.
Geisterjäger Ernie Hudson und der Zoo des Todes [Ghost Hunter Ernie Hudson and the Zoo of Death]SkurrilumEscape roomIRLThis is an audio play guided room with recordings being played rather often during the time in the room. For players used to only getting contacted by game masters when hints are needed this might feel a bit strange in the beginning as it might feel as if they are given many hints (without asking for hints). A couple of times I was wondering if it might have worked a little better if waiting a bit longer to play the sequence so that it feels less like a hint but rather a commentary of a narrator of what you are doing after you did it. Guess it depends also a bit on the game master’s specific timing. Some rooms within the room are rather small thus I would not recommend playing it with more than 3-4 players. We were 4 and it felt a bit crowded in places in between and not everyone had things to do. Also due to it being crowded it got really hot in the room - some aircon would have been nice.
Die Legende vom herzlosen Piraten [The Tale of the Heartless Pirate]Dream LabsEscape roomIRLWow, this was so much fun! :) Absolutely amazing experience for adults and kids alike. The setting, story and atmosphere of this room are just incredible. Played this with my brother with whom I used to play the Monkey Island games when we were kids and we found so many nice Easter eggs along the already cool and humorous plot. But also my daughter who is 12 and doesn’t know anything about Monkey Island found lots of things and twists she loved and still talks about hours later. Tasks to solve are all rather easy, this is more about just having a good time and going with the flow rather than having to solve logical puzzles. Time definitely well spent!!
Tomb HunterFinest EscapeEscape roomIRLHuge room in a former cinema where you are actually allowed to climb on stuff - a really nice change compared to all the rooms where you hear the “nothing above 2 meters” rule. The room is also packed with task to do, each single one not really hard but because of the amount of tasks in sum it is hard to get everything done in time. Towards the end ( because we were running out of time) the hints from the game master were really in-your-face basically telling us the answers straight away which was a bit of a shame cause it broke the immersion a lot (we would have liked more time to solve the task ourselves in exchange to less live acting in the end). Still: really really great room!
LondiumLondium Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThe room is huge and really incredible decoration and setting. Lots of details everywhere which is really cool and gives you a lots to look at and admire. Two versions of the room are available, we played the “no tension” version because we had two children in our team. They enjoyed it a lot and were able to help with lots of the tasks. Puzzles are on the easier side and sometimes seemed a bit random and not really fitting that much into the scenery. Most were well placed and paced in the setting though. We had a bit of trouble understanding the overarching story as it was told in parts via recordings where the English voice had a strong Spanish accent and wasn’t the easiest to understand especially with loud background music. Overall a lot of fun though and well suited for a family fun adventure on a rainy day.
LostDream LabsEscape roomIRLReally cool dark/horror room in the amazing quality of all DreamLabs rooms! The entrance into the game was just phenomenal and extremely well delivered by the fantastic game masters. Somewhere in the middle we were a bit lost in regards to what the current task/mission is, but the “hints” to get us back on track were also delivered in perfect immersion that it actually didn’t feel like a lost to be lost in lost for a bit… contains Easter eggs and at least one side quest (maybe more that we didn’t discover), so look for details left and right of the main track when playing :)
The Dark ForestHorror StoriesEscape roomIRLThis was my second horror room (after “The Amulet” at 66Minutes in Neuwied), so I don’t have much experience and comparisons in regards to this type of room yet, but… OMG, this fell so next level and immersive! The setting of the room is really realistic and super spooky in this dark forest; the actors were amazing and the sound, light, wind etc etc made it just creepy and scary to the max. Puzzles and tasks were on the easy side but that was not the main attraction of the experience anyway. We were 90min on super high alert and adrenaline level living from spooky moment to spooky moment non-stop. Definitely something I will remember for a long time.
