Botanist ManorEscape RushEscape roomIRLModern high-tech room with lots of (touch) screens and videos via which the story was delivered. The story itself was multilayered which was very fun in some parts but slightly confusing in others. Broad variety of puzzles and tasks, some super easy, other we needed a bit of explanation in the end because the solution was 100% self-explaining. Overall a great experience and a recommendation to play :)
I can hear youEnteredEscape roomIRLWe booked this game in story mode because we read that it is super scary in horror mode. Our fantastic game master and the live actor decided on the spot to adjust the scare level to our reactions and abilities. So in the end we experienced a bit of an individuality curated “mixed mode” which was just perfect. :) The room is worth playing even for the story itself which is very well thought-through (and part of a larger overarching story created by Entered surrounding the Red Eye Initiative as we learned from the Game Master). So I’d like to strongly encourage you to play it even if “just” in story mode.
Tokyo LabEscape RushEscape roomIRLNice room design especially the first part. Unfortunately we needed a bit to get into the flow in this room as some of the first tasks didn’t feel intuitive to us. But once we were in the flow it was a great gameplay and fun story.
Demise of the GricersEnteredEscape roomIRLTruly unique experience. In the briefing e-mail they already tell you it’s not an escape room but and immersive adventure - and that is 100% true. They also warn you beforehand that is physically challenging and you need to climb and crawl a lot - so no surprises there. What was surprising though was the extend of details in the set as well as the story of the whole game. I applaud the creative minds behind it for coming up with this masterpiece. The live acting is also fantastic and there are fun side quests you can achieve. Unfortunately there is not enough time to do everything so you have to decide what to focus on. And possibly come back another time :)
Dooby DooFox O'ClockEscape roomIRLUnfortunately a disappointment. Booked this room as the last room of our Wroclaw escape room tour cause we thought we’d give another venue a try after playing mostly rooms at Exit19. And obviously a Scooby Doo themed monster mystery room sounded like a lot of fun. Unfortunately this is an old DIY-style room with lots of visible glue, cheep props and a flat storyline that doesn’t really involve anything Scooby Doo-ish apart from one giant Scooby and Velma dolls standing around somewhere. I don’t mind DIY-style rooms if the puzzle are well thought through and there are nevertheless fun tasks etc. but here it was all on the level of what I would create as a treasure hunt for my kids’ birthday. Also when you solve something there is no visual or audio confirmation that the correct solution was found so in the beginning we spend a lot of time “re-solving” things not realizing somewhere else in the room something already opened very quietly… moved on to always asking the game master “did we solve this correctly” after a while to which he would reply: yes, look at the [random door/drawer/box in the corner that had nothing to do with the puzzle] - it just opened. In summary: not a recommendation. When in doubt, rather play another room at e.g. Exit19 instead of this one.
Obłęd [Asylum]Exit19.plEscape roomIRLIt’s not a horror room - not sure why it is labeled as horror on some websites. Spooky for sure especially in the beginning but there are no real “active” horror elements. I loved the beginning when some collaboration tasks were especially entertaining for us. The setting in that first parts was very atmospheric. High puzzle density with puzzles where some experience is needed in order to quickly grasp what belongs together. I don’t think beginner teams can solve everything in the given 90min. Towards the end the story disappears and doesn’t really make any sense anymore but that doesn’t really matter as the puzzles stay interesting and diverse. In regard to the puzzles one of my favorite games we played at Exit19 so far (in regard to the story it lacked a bit though).
Lochy Kròla Artura [King Arthur's Dungeons]Exit19.plEscape roomIRLFun room with a high density of puzzles. Lots of things can be done in parallel which takes a bit of time for orientation in the beginning to understand with things are part to which particular puzzle. But once you have a good overview of the room and where to find what it has a nice flow and great variety of puzzle types. Due to the puzzle density and combination of multiple items in different locations for some puzzles, it’s not really suitable for beginners. But more experienced players who enjoy logical puzzles will have a great time! :)
Wehikul Czasu – Tajemica Leonarda [Time Machine - The Mystery of Leonard]Exit19.plEscape roomIRLOld school Escape Room without much of a story - your talk is simply to find one missing piece of your Time Machine and that’s it. So if you’re into story driven rooms, this one isn’t for you. If you enjoy puzzle-heavy rooms with puzzles on the more complex side (that is e.g. having to combine multiple elements for different larger puzzles), you’ll like this room a lot. Even the more complex puzzles in this room that take some time to be figured out, have completely logical solutions, something other “hard” rooms not always manage to do in my experience. Thus a really good room for puzzle lovers :)
Księga Magii - Czar Wiedźmy [The Book of Magic - The Witch’s Spell]Exit19.plEscape roomIRLSmall room in size but extremely cute decorated and fun to play. It’s suitable also for kids (if they are ok with witch burning in general) and self-driven in the sense that you can interact with the hint system independently and don’t really need a game master at all to get hints. The density of puzzles and tasks is super high especially give the small size of the room. Definitely a puzzle room, not a story-driven room.
Wyspa Smoka - Świątynia Żywiołów [Dragon Island - Temple of the Elements]Exit19.plEscape roomIRLCute room with a couple of fun surprises along the storyline and gameplay. Nicely decorated and a good variety of things to do although nothing was super unique. Communication between team members is key in this room thus I recommend this room especially for team buildings. The audio sequences are slightly too long in parts for my personal taste but were recorded in perfectly understandable English (which we didn’t encounter in every room in Poland so far). I would rate the room also suitable for children.
Opuszczony Hotel [Abandoned Hotel]Exit19.plEscape roomIRLOk, WOW. This was a perfect experience. The design and decoration are extremely well done - you feel like you are actually in an old hotel. Perfect use of space. Loved the “hint system”. I think this was the most immersive and charming way of helping us out here and there that I ever experienced. Fantastic live acting within the game that created a well tempered constant tension level somewhere between spooky and scary but never too much horror. I fully enjoyed every second in this room and will recommend it to everyone I know :)
Wiedźma i Albercik [The Witch And Albercik]Secret Room & Brain CodeEscape roomIRLTl;dr: short and easy room. Not a must-play. Would like to be able to give a neutral rating. It’s hard for me to rate this room on a scale that just offers the three options 👎 👍 ❤️. We played it as the first room of a 4-days stay in Wroclaw and intentionally booked a short and easy room to start with just to get in the mood. We got exactly what we expected: a short and easy room. Thus, giving it a 👎 would be unfair. But the 👍 also is a bit unfair compared to other rooms I also rated 👍 in the past. I thus would like to give it a neutral rating 🫱. That being said: it’s probably a great room to play with smaller children. The puzzles involve a lot of color and fairy tale themes. No need to read instructions, everything is very intuitive.
Przeklęty Pierścień [Cursed Ring]Secret Room & Brain CodeEscape roomIRL2nd room we played in Wroclaw, which we mainly chose due to the Lord of the Rings theme. We didn’t have super high expectations as this room is on none of the TOP lists, we just wanted to warm up into a “darker” atmosphere room, before playing the longer and more complex highlight rooms of the city. Unfortunately it wasn’t a good room for this purpose as some of the mechanics only worked on 2nd or 3rd trail and some of the puzzles were just not intuitive at all but rather frustrating. Even with hints the “logic” behind the solution wasn’t that convincing. (And a rather tedious search-and-find-task where you had to find multiple small objects randomly placed in the room - just the type of task I personally don’t like at all.) Anyhow, there was one rather nice effect but even given that my overall conclusion is: sorry, but unfortunately not a recommendation. There are better rooms in Wroclaw even for just “warming up”.
The Shadow Runners [Outdoor]Illuminati EscapeHauntHaunted trailThis was my third outdoor escape game and compared to the previous two it was disappointing and not worth the money. First the nice parts: The path you walk is nice, starting at Brandenburg Gate and walking a ~2,5km round trip through Tiergarten Bering made aware of some statues/ marks in Tiergarten I didn’t know existed. Also it’s very convenient that you can start at any time without a specific slot. But: * The puzzles and tasks were all super easy (=boring even for non-experienced players) * You are not given any materials as you do in other outdoor games, thus you never have to combine anything you brought with what you see at the puzzles locations. Thus the type of tasks you get are basically always the same (there was much more variety in the games where you had materials) * the game was played in the browser of your smartphone - on none of our phones it worked probably 100%. Because we had it open on 4 phones in parallel, at least one was luckily always working, but also at least one was always stuck somewhere. In theory it should work for up to 8 players in parallel. * the overarching story itself was not very convincing and the end was just dull with no interesting finale whatsoever. A bit more creativity in storytelling is required to keep people interested in the “plot” All in all: I wouldn’t recommend this outdoor escape game to anyone. There are better outdoor games available (even at the same venue) that offer more variety in tasks and better story telling.
Zemsta Umarlaka [Deadman's Revenge]DreamScape - Escape RoomEscape roomIRLCool room located in the center of Poznan with a convincing pirate story and atmosphere driven by some really well delivered live acting bits. Again a high density of puzzles and a couple of nice details that I haven’t seen elsewhere yet. Especially loved the very beginning that was well rounded off in the end. Highly recommend playing this room!
Cień Nietoperza [Bat's Shadows]Escape ArenaEscape roomIRLVery fun and atmospheric room with a great variety of puzzles. Enjoyed two tasks especially that I hadn’t seen before (and one that broke my heart a little). Like all rooms we played in Poznan the puzzle density was rather high but (apart from two tasks) it was always clear what to do next. English audio was slightly hard to understand at points as were the hints given but with a super friendly and helpful GM it was well manageable. Overall a recommendation to play when in Poznan, you’ll leave with an extra gimmick and smile on your face.
The Heart of Atlantis [Serce Atlantydy]Exit MindEscape roomIRLThis room was still rather new when we played it. The set is stunning and you can tell that a lot of love and creativity went into the design and the story arc. However it didn’t feel completely rounded (yet) and the flow was interrupted at some points by lengthy puzzles or some technical issues that occurred (e.g. a speaker that was to quiet against rather loud background noise; some lights didn’t stop flashing when they were supposed to etc.) There are relatively long pre-recorded story audio sequences in between which felt a bit too extensive at times. Nevertheless the room with its decor and theme has a lot of potential and I am sure they can refine it into an excellent experience with some changes here and there. I am looking forward to reading the reviews in a couple of months to see if they improved with some tweaks.
Zielona Mila [The Green Mile]Fun4BrainEscape roomIRLWow! This was an outstanding experience! A surprisingly large room with a huge amount of puzzles and tasks - some endurance is definitely needed. The theme is rather heavy but very well implemented and lots of story bits are recognizable elements taken from The Green Mile. Take the time to watch the movie (or at least a recap) before playing the room, it’ll definitely help you appreciate the room even more. At the end of the game I left a bit exhausted (in a good way) and still astonished by the vast variety of things we did while inside the room. Absolutely a must play in Poznan!
Krasnoludy [Dwarves]CluERoom PoznańEscape roomIRLCute little room (literally) fully packed with tons of riddles. This was my first room in Poland and there was a lot to do - definitely more riddles than you find on average in rooms of this size in Germany (where I am from). I heard that this is in general the case in Poland thus looking forward to a lot of riddle solving during our trip here. On the story-side it was less extensive: one main mission that you have to complete. Great gameplay and a good start to our Poznan escape room trip. :)
Dom Pogrzebowy [Funeral Home]Fun4BrainEscape roomIRLYou get exactly what is promised: being locked in a funeral home needing to find a way out. A very classic escape room set-up so far, what makes it special is the well-decorated atmospheric room, detailed props, very fitting tasks and puzzles and overall rather unique (obviously somewhat morbid) theme. I definitely recommend playing this room when in Poznan!
