Murder Mystery MasqueradePadlock Escape GamesEscape roomIRLReview is only for Masquerade - hoping the other rooms are better. Masquerade is in desperate need of a refresh as most of the props have seen better days. The very first clue required exceptional force to pull down the lock. We wasted 17 minutes on the very first thing because no matter how many times we did the directional lock pattern, it wouldn’t budge and the game master made no attempt to assist or pay attention how many times we said out loud the combos we were trying . We pushed the clue button, got a useless clue that we were already doing; pushed it again and waited 5 minutes to get the combo clue that we had already tried a bunch of times; then he came into say pull hard. Like…what a buzz kill from the get go. Then another clue wasn’t registering its trigger shortly after. While the rest of the puzzles had a lot of fluidity, we lost so much time and enthusiasm from those first major needs being unpassable and the game maker not acknowledging the issues. Also the book prop has seen way better days and was falling apart. We love a good diy room, but this felt like a tattered duct tape situation in which the game maker made no effort to salvage. Humor goes along way, but it seemed like we just annoyed him. One of our players said “it’s the hardest room because it’s badly built not because it’s difficult.” And that was a great description. Another player said “it’s like a teacher who only writes in bad cursive to make sure he can claim his students are lazy”
Outlaw's HideoutEscape Again RoomsEscape roomIRLSimply amazing. We have done over 100 escape rooms and Outlaw is my new favorite. We were in town for a banana ball game and just stopped in before our trip home - and was the best decision. It was fantastic - and not your typical western theme. Great story, solid puzzles, smooth transitions, and top tier props. We laughed and wow’d almost the full game. Took us 41 minutes of solid curiosity and “oh that’s clever!” moments. Game maker made it fun if we needed a nudge. I wish we had more time to do the next rooms, so we will absolutely be back.
School of Magic: The Four Secret KeepersGame Over Escape Rooms - KatyEscape roomIRLClever🥰. Well put together room and clues. They put a lot of time and effort into the rooms decor. Pretty intuitive with only one puzzle needing a bit of a nudge. We enjoyed it, and it definitely played more into the wizardry lore and history more than magical trials
Lost City of AtlantisGame Over Escape Rooms - KatyEscape roomIRLVery in depth theme; cool water fall and puzzles. Pretty intuitive and a few reverse logic puzzles, so not hard and very beginner friendly. Had fun; and glad we were able to add it.
Temple of the SkullGame Over Escape Rooms - KatyEscape roomIRLProbably hardest of the 3 we did in terms of “figure it out” but also the most fun and different props. Not really a story rather than an “unlock this to do that” flow but it worked out. One puzzle it seemed like we had figured out only to learn there was a very trivial reason it wasn’t working and that was frustrating but not a super long time lost. Had good time and still made leaderboard!
Three Suns CantinaExit 4 Escape Rooms - KatyEscape roomIRLCute premise; someone stole you pet. Logical puzzles more than anything; so not super hard but also not exceptional. Great decor. Was knocked out faster than expected, so feels like you leave wanting more but you do have a great feeling of saving your pet.
AnubisGreat Room Escape - San AntonioEscape roomIRLSeveral puzzles didn't work; relied heavily on game master effort and our game master sounded like a chain smoker with no supporting team members
Escape The 80'S Dance PartyGreat Room Escape - DallasEscape roomIRLAwkward - Was a one room escape room; where an actor stayed in the room.
Black GoldEscape Room LafayetteEscape roomIRLOne Room, a little too simple on most puzzles. Hard puzzles weren't intuitive or clue was worn out
Agent 1313th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLAlot of good puzzles, and well designed - BUT sensory overload. Sounds and light issues. and Laser tunnel didn't work
Houdini - CLOSEDGreat Room Escape - Austin [prev. Mindspark Escape]Escape roomIRLRequires outside knowledge and time consuming skill puzzles
Toy Shop of TerrorEnchambered Live Escape Room AdventureEscape roomIRLOne Room escape; super cute kid vibe.
Meltdown | Outbreak - CLOSEDEscape the Room - Fort WorthEscape roomIRLToo many useless puzzles from old constructions
The Spell Breakers - CLOSEDQuest Room - KoreatownEscape roomIRLYikes. Actor involved. Wayyy too dependent on chatter
The Pharaoh's TombThe Perfect EscapeEscape roomIRLSo many puzzles pieces didn't quite work. Lots of stopping for game maker to fix. Decor would have been awesome if not broken
Fair GameRed Door Escape Room - Fort WorthEscape roomIRLLots of wear and tear on the puzzles. They were fun though. Just felt like a dirty circus
Time MachineRed Door Escape Room - Fort WorthEscape roomIRLHard to only give a 3. Several items had a lot of wear and tear. Not audibly accessible for the hard of hearing as it requires long distance hearing
