PortlandiaEscape Games PDXEscape roomIRLThe ending is epic. All puzzles are on the easy side. The crossword puzzle is a time waster. We played a team of two. You have to pay for the minimum of 3 people.
Game of Stones 2Portland Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWe escaped with no clues as a team of two. The atmosphere was immersive. However, it was way too dark, and we had to hold the small flashlights for the entire hour. At least three puzzles were based on memorization. One tactile puzzle did not trigger consistently. One non-essential prop was missing eyes (broken). The walls had remnants/red herrings from a removed puzzle.
Jurassic ToursNW Escape ExperienceEscape roomIRLThe room had the best live actor I've ever seen! All puzzles are trivial (one-layer) except for one two-layer puzzle. Best enjoyed with two people. Kid-friendly. The unique aspect is that this room is branching: you can choose one of two available paths: as a result, one or two puzzles and the story will be different.
Tesla's Doomsday DeviceMindTrix Escape Room GamesEscape roomIRLOutstanding high-tech escape room! Almost all puzzles fit the theme perfectly. One perception-based puzzle was so cute and satisfying, we both said, "Wow!" If you are into engineering, you will absolutely love this room.
Alien ZooEscapism PortlandEscape roomIRLAbsolutely hilarious. No generic locks! Easy puzzles except for the last one. One puzzle had a dark yellow (supposed to be orange) and a light yellow (supposed to be yellow), which caused color confusion.
Antidote: Chemical WarfareEscapology - Raleigh HillsEscape roomIRLThis room has the most beautiful puzzle I've ever personally experienced (at the time of writing).
Batman™: The Dark Knight ChallengeEscapology - Raleigh HillsEscape roomIRLAll puzzles fit the theme well. Difficulty ramps up smoothly from easy to harder. The tic-tac-toe puzzle was especially fun.
Mansion MurderEscapology - Raleigh HillsEscape roomIRLNothing felt original or impressive. One puzzle was convoluted, another was annoying and illogical. There was one solid three-layered puzzle. The two decoding puzzles were acceptable but purely time-consuming rather than engaging.
The Ritual RoomEscapism PortlandEscape roomIRLMost puzzles are straightforward. One felt unique and interesting (worth playing the room), one was annoying. The room was too dim to my liking.
The Hour Before ChristmasParadigmqEscape roomIRLOne room filled with 12 padlocks. It's almost the same room as their daughter company Escape Games PDX had, but they removed my favorite hilarious puzzle re: Santa's portrait. All puzzles were easy, some a little bit confusing. The final (12th) puzzle was frustrating due to excessive cognitive load and information overload. The room would benefit from quiet Christmas music to improve the overall atmosphere. Why disliked: do not recommend for experienced players given the price tag, a single room, and too many padlocks.
