Escape room
IRL
Room was great! I really loved the creativity of the puzzles. They really stretched your brain and had a nice variety. The puzzles were very linear (not a negative) so it was very nice for beginners to follow along and know what to work on next. We liked it so much we booked another right after! This was my 84th escape room and I would highly recommend checking out the rooms they have (as they have varying difficulty).

This was my 86th escape room. The staff members were friendly, the room theme was cool, and the puzzles were pretty on theme. Overall it had the potential to be an awesome room! Why the two stars then? A certain type of puzzle seemed to be used over and over again throughout the room, though in slightly different ways (won’t give more information because I don’t want to give anything away) which made it slightly repetitive feeling. What really made me not like the experience was the clue system. Most rooms I’ve done, you get to ask for a clue when you feel like you are stuck. Learning to do this strategically can help the game flow nicely and avoid the frustrated feeling of feeling “stuck” for long periods of time. The way they do clues is, you do not ask for them. They will give you a clue if you are stuck, but only after a certain amount of time has elapsed since you got “stuck”. While this does add an additional challenge to the game (which some may like), it took away the ability to be strategic with clues when you need them. I also felt that it killed the flow to the game. There were times where we clearly were stuck, but had to wait almost 10 minutes for a clue (the time seemed to get a little shorter the further we got into the game). So instead of asking for a clue, getting unstuck, and getting to enjoy the flow and puzzles of the room, we had precious minutes wasted feeling frustrated. The reasoning I was given for the way they do their clue system is “many times people ask for a clue in games and then figure it out right after, so the clue was basically wasted”. I mean, yes, I have had that happen before, but I have also learned when to use clues most effectively within our group. So in my opinion, that alone added a lot of unneeded frustration and killed the flow of the room and caused me not to be able to enjoy what otherwise would have been a really cool room. That being said, if that type of clue system doesn’t bother you or if you think it would make the game more interesting, then by all means I recommend you give them a try. I really wanted to like the room, but it just left such a bad taste in my mouth after the clue frustration. If you would get frustrated as I did, then I suggest you look elsewhere.
