Loot The LanesPier PressureEscape roomIRLThis room really shows off what can be done in a fairly small space! The puzzles were fun and several different from those I had seen before. The theming was really great, particularly the cobbled streets and shop window displays. A few things starting to look quite tired which could do with repair, but this didn't really take away from the event. We played as a team of 2 and were successful, but I think a larger group of maybe 4 would be ideal.
Pudding LaneCronologicEscape roomIRLSuch a wonderful room with incredible set design! It's like stepping back in time into the cobbled streets and characterful shop fronts. Such great immersion and set design. A few more tactile puzzles than your average room too which is nice. Quite a unique theme being the great fire of London, but great to feel educated and entertained at the same time. I can't wait to see what other rooms this company can produce, as this one really was high end. Thank you for bringing this quality to the South West :)
SpellCraftTulleys Escape RoomEscape roomIRLA seemingly really big budget, wow factor of a room! Immersive and surprising at every turn. Definitely one to do as a more experienced or larger group, as loads to get through. No spoilers, but this room has a feature to are unlikely to see anywhere else....
The Lost TempleProdigy Escapes And ExperiencesEscape roomIRLWhat a brilliant room! Such good fun in a really wonderfully designed set. It felt like you had stepped into the Aztec zone on Crystal Maze! The quality of the set design was excellent and you could tell a huge amount of effort had gone into making it. Lots of physical/tactile puzzles which I loved. The host was brilliant and really got into character, adding to the immersion. I will highly recommend this room and think it's my new favourite of the 74 I have now completed! :) We played on medium mode. A really interesting game mechanic which should make it suitable for all abilities.
The Haunting Of Mount Clifton ManorProdigy Escapes And ExperiencesEscape roomIRLWe loved this room. The perfect level of horror to keep you on your toes, but not so much that it distracts from the varied and interesting puzzles. I'm a bit late leaving this review and sadly this room closed a few weeks ago, but I'm very excited to see what Prodigy can achieve in part two of this story.
House of CluesExcape: Exmouth Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLAn absolutely fantastic game, packed with surprises and incredible set pieces from the moment your game starts (IYKYK!) A special mention also needs to go to the very clever and immersive use of the GM in this game in the form of the Butler, who greets you in full character as you arrive at the door to the house of Clues. Hard to say too much more without giving too much away but, this room is a must visit if you want something unique and memorable!
Soggy Bottom BakeryMindworks Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLSuch a well themed room with excellent props, sounds effects, scents etc to really set the scene. A couple of great set piece surprises too, which I won't spoil but really helped to make this room unique. The added touch of the GM being in character as "Vicki Sponge" really helped with the immersion. A very fun room, but we completed it quite quickly, so not necessarily one to go for if you're really after a challenge.
It's Not FairBolted Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLUp there in my top 2 rooms I have ever played! I will recommend this to everyone! It really has the perfect balance of fun, clever puzzles, immersion and set design. I would describe the theme as "The sublime to the ridiculous!" It takes you right back to your childhood and will bring out the fun and smiles in even the most miserable of people! The set design and theming is of great quality and they have really thought about engaging all of your senses. You can tell a lot of love and passion has gone into this room. The owner and room developer Tom was really lovely and knowing that the experience is run and built by a local family really adds to it's appeal. I really can't wait to see what they design in the future.
Fear of the UnknownEnigma Escape Cornwall [prev. Eureka Escape Cornwall]Escape roomIRLHands down the best room I have ever played! The attention to detail and quality of the set build is second to none. The level of immersion is excellent and there are loads of puzzles to keep you busy for the full 90 minutes. It brings a new (and very much welcomed) change in game mechanics. With collectable and story based elements. It feels like this is leading the way in the future of what escape rooms might have to offer. It mixes traditional puzzles with more physical/interactive tasks so has something for everyone. The beauty of this room is I now want to go back and play it again! The completionist in me wants 100% and I believe there are some hidden areas I didn't reach first time around! This room is so deserving of it's recent TERPECA nomination and for anyone who's an escape room fan this is an absolute must!
Turkey Dinner!Enigma Escape Cornwall [prev. Eureka Escape Cornwall]Escape roomIRLThis room was full of festive fun and games, bright colours and memorable elements. In the UK we love nothing more than a good roast dinner and this one made us feel right at home. In my opinion they're aren't enough rooms with a collectable element, and this one did that so well! A really great quality room for what we were told is only a Christmas pop up.
