Before Moonrise
Escape New Haven
Escape room
IRL
What a fantastic room! One of my top 5, for sure, and I have done over 50 rooms. This is the best room at Escape New Haven. I did this with my family and while I don’t normally like doing rooms with large amount of people, this one comfortably supported all 6 of us. This one has lots of great technology - lights, sound, RFID, you name it! The theme is fun and unique and has so many fun and surprisingly elements. Truly delightful things that made me giggle out loud with joy. I really love this room and wish I could experience is anew again.
Budapest Express
Escapology - Trumbull
Escape room
IRL
This is a solid room but no where near as good as the Scooby Room. Mildly difficult, lost of reading involved and you need to be mindful of where items are placed since that will help you solve the puzzles. Not a really good set - just okay.

Conundrum Museum
Boxaroo
Escape room
IRL
This is a good solid room but my least favorite of the ones at Boxaroo. It’s an interesting theme and does have some fun and unique elements but for just two players , it was a bit difficult so I recommend at least 3-4 for this room. Some of the puzzles were a bit obtuse and we did require some hints. Perhaps if there were more people we would not have needed the hints. Overall still a great room but I found it to be the most difficult of all three rooms currently offered at Boxaroo
Cure of the Alchemist
Team Vs Time
Escape room
IRL
This is a good solid room for first time escape room players. If you are new to escape rooms I would recommend doing this one first out of all the rooms at Team vs Time and work up from there. Unlike the other rooms, this one is very linear and straightforward with the puzzles being not very difficult. I would recommend 2-3 players but no more than that.
Curse of Osiris
Lara's Labyrinth - Wethersfield
Escape room
IRL
The rooms at Lara’s labyrinth are always well done in terms of looks- high tech set and RFID technology and custom made puzzles/locks. My only complaint is the staffing. I feel like the staff overly babies the players. I always try to let them know that I do not want hints unless I beg for them (and usually we do not unless we have been stuck for 20 minutes). I also let them know that we are seasoned escape room enthusiasts. However each time the staff repeatedly either comes into the room to interrupt gameplay or calls over the speaker because they think we need a hint. In this case my friends and are we’re only mildly stuck but I am confident with a few more minutes we would have worked out the puzzle for ourselves when the game master spoke to us over the radio to give us an unsolicited hint. If we were running out of time, maybe this would be warranted, however, we were probably only 30 minutes in? This is my biggest complaint. Overall, room and puzzles are good. How the staff runs the room- not good.
Curse of the Bambino
Cooperstown Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
This is a must visit if you are in Cooperstown. The theme is very on brand and while the room is not very high tech, there are some whimsical elements to it that make up for the many combination locks. Two people is enough if you are seasoned escape roomers but probably 3-4 would be good as it’s not a very large room.
Dragonborne
Lara's Labyrinth - East Haven
Escape room
IRL
This is a solid room in terms of design and technology however my biggest gripe is the staff here. They interrupted game play to this room to give an unsolicited hint when they thought we needed it even though I explicitly told the staff that we were seasoned escape room goers and did not want any hints. Despite this, they literally came into the room (not even spoke through the speakers) to help with something that we had not even struggled with for 15 minutes. Though the room was fantastic this experience really soured the gameplay for me and made us escaping less satisfying than it could have been.
Escape The 1980s
Escape The 1980s

Sad this room is currently closed but when I played it back in 2017 it was so much fun! My group did have to play with strangers but in this case it turned out fine. It has a great collection of 80s technology and memorabilia and loved that there were hidden coupons around the room that gave you a free drink at an area bar. What a great idea for a local team up to support other businesses in the area! We found a coupon and went straight to that bar after we were done! This room was so delightful and at the end it had all these wonderful 80s clothes and signs you could take a group photo with. Definitely a fun stop if you are visiting in town!
Escape The Hydeout
Mission Escape Games - West Hartford, CT
Escape room
IRL
Great room. I did this with 4 people total and think that is a good amount for seasoned escape room goers. 5-6 if new players involved would be fine. The puzzles are satisfying and some difficult. There were some fun and surprising elements that I enjoyed that made this a very solid room.
Gangster Gnomes 2 Out On Parole
Codeword Escape
Escape room
IRL
This room was actually very cute and I was pleasantly surprised. I love a solid, independent escape room with a unique theme. Gangster Gnomes is definitely a unique and original one - as if they robbed a gnome collectors house and used all of them as props in the room. A great Christmas themed room, though I played it in the summer, the puzzles were good. Some slightly challenging but nothing too hard.
