The Nest [Immersive Theatre]Hatch EscapesEscape roomOther Definitely make note of "immersive theater" - if you're going into this thinking it's an escape room, you'll be disappointed. It's a story, so take the time to slow down (you're in no rush), listen to the tales, and really enjoy & admire the scenery which is very well done. There ARE a few puzzles, and you'll need to do some searching, but nothing extraordinarily difficult. I found the ending quite moving and was tearing up at the end.
Putt Portal Mystery Golf60 to Escape - SchaumburgEscape roomOther Don't make the drive out just for this, but if you're already doing the escape rooms, this is a fun add-on. The puzzles are not particularly high tech at all - they're all solving to make a word - and on a Saturday afternoon, it did get a bit crowded. You can complete the holes in any order (except the last hole, because it eats your ball) but that means some groups, especially with young kids, took the opportunity to just screw around and play the same hole again and again and again. Thankfully, everyone moved on quickly once they realized we were waiting.
