A Curious CaseEskape WhitbyEscape roomIRLA non linear room with a fun Alice in Wonderland feel to it. Lots of puzzles which is a good challenge for a group of two. Definitely worth a visit!
AnubisCluedini - DarlingtonEscape roomIRLVery lock heavy but all locks are at least labelled with what puzzle they belong to. A good fun non-linear room. We didn’t quite get out in time (down to the last puzzle) but a fair bit to get through with a group of two. Not a great deal to the set hence only a ‘like’ not ‘love’ rating but a good all rounder room.
Arabian NightsEnigma Live Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLA nice flow to the room, nothing too complicated but nice well thought out puzzles, lots of mag locks but that’s less fiddling around with locks so a nice change. Restrictive space in a couple of areas but good fun themed room.
BedlamCompendium Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis room has a lot more packed into a small space and requires at least one member of the team to crawl through a tight space on multiple occasions. Requires a keen eye at times to spot the clues but a really enjoyable room. We did this as a group of two but you would probably struggle in terms of space for more than four people at the same time. Not scary, no jump scares, and no live actor.
CarfaxCave EscapeEscape roomIRLOur first escape room in a cave and what a fab cave it is. Definitely worth a visit and the easier of the two rooms (this and Monuments) if you have a small/less experienced group. Really enjoyed this room, you won’t be disappointed.
Code Red: Santa ScrambleEscapable - Thornes Lane WharfEscape roomIRLA really fun lock heavy room which is great for both families and adults. Lots of intertwining puzzles and a lovely festive theme too.
ColditzEnigma Live Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLAfter a slow start and knowing that this was their hardest game, I wasn’t sure if we were going to escape or not at one point but Lo and behold, we did. A great themed room with some crawling required and lots of locks! Lots of fun and a reminder to not rush through so as not to miss any detail!
CurioEscapologic - NottinghamEscape roomIRLAs a team of two, there is a LOT to do in this room but we were on a good roll and the first half of the room we whizzed through. The set is amazing, slightly low lighting in places and not the best of rooms if you have any form of motion sickness. Very cleverly put together room and a must do if you get chance.
Escape From AlcatrazHoudini's YorkEscape roomIRLAlthough Houdini isn’t a new company, their York branch has only just opened which is probably why we had such a poor time. Our GM, was inadequately experienced and despite asking for a clue on multiple occasions, they were either not very forthcoming (possibly a 7 minute wait after first asking!), or so cryptic we still couldn’t progress. One torch stopped working, some tools were faulty, either giving the wrong answer or didn’t do the job intended. Despite having done nearly 100 escape rooms, barely any of the puzzles were logical and we probably still needed another 20-25mins to complete it. This is the first room we have ever considered leaving before the time ran out. Such a shame.
Escape the Chocolate FactoryEnigma Live Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThe set is really quite something in this one with what feels like endless puzzles and personally created a real panic towards the end thinking we wouldn’t escape in time. We did, with a fun ending. Needed a little nudge along the way but managed to escape with a group of two, although one or two more on the team might have helped.
