Escape Room 66 - Los Angeles
Escape room
IRL
This room was such a fun experience! Our escape master, Tuesday, who also owns this location, was incredibly sweet and fantastic to work with. As others have mentioned, most of the puzzles are first-gen ‘lock and key’ style, but the attention to detail and variety of puzzles make it a great experience. Highly recommend!

Loved this room! There is a great variety of different puzzles and unique atmosphere. One of my favorites!
Special Ops: Mysterious Market

This was a great room! I really enjoyed the high-tech elements of many of the puzzles, and the combination of tech and traditional puzzles made for a well-rounded experience. This is definitely one of my favorite Escape Game rooms that I’ve done.

Maze Rooms - West LA

Overall, this was a good room with some unique elements and special effects. However, a couple of puzzles were more challenging than they should have been due to the design. Without giving too much away, we figured out the solutions quickly, but the mechanics were tricky, which became frustrating after it happened a few times. We were a group of 2, and you do need at least 3 people for one of the puzzles. I’d probably recommend a group of 4 due to the non-linear layout.

This was a fun room, though it wasn’t as high-tech as some other places (such as at The Escape Game). The staff was very nice, and they gave us an extra 5 minutes since we were so close at the end, which allowed us to escape. It was my partner’s first escape room, and I felt it was a good introduction—challenging enough to keep things interesting but still doable with just the two of us.

We found this room very challenging and needed a lot of hints to get through, even with a group of five. One reason it was so difficult is that, due to the theme, many of the clues looked similar (like hieroglyphics), which made it hard to distinguish between them. However, there were some unique puzzles in this room that we had fun with, and overall, we enjoyed the escape experience, though it’s not a favorite of ours.

I had read previous reviews, so I wasn’t expecting it to be heavy on the ‘escape’ aspect. However, I was surprised that there were more puzzles than I anticipated. Unfortunately, an actor/guide accompanies you throughout the experience and essentially walks you through every puzzle. Even though my group was doing well, the guide told us how to solve the puzzles before we even had a chance to figure them out ourselves, which took away a lot of the fun. While the set and immersion are impressive, it’s not very scary, so if you’re looking for a good haunted house, this may not be it. I’d only recommend it to someone who doesn’t regularly do escape rooms, as they might still enjoy it. Another thing to note is the group size – there are 10 people per group, and many of the rooms are VERY small for that number. If you’re even slightly claustrophobic, this is not for you. Even without claustrophobia, I often couldn’t see what was happening because there were too many people crowding the small space.
The Depths
The Escape Game - Los Angeles

This was the first escape room I ever tried, and I found it quite challenging—I didn’t manage to escape. We didn’t ask for hints until we were already falling behind, which contributed to our difficulty. I wouldn’t recommend this room for first-timers, but for more experienced escape artists, it’s very well designed and features unique puzzles. Just be prepared for a real challenge!
Only Murders in the Building [Season 4]
The Escape Game - Los Angeles

This was a great room! Even though I’ve never seen the show, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and had no trouble understanding any of the puzzles. So don’t hesitate to give it a try if you’re not familiar with the show. There were many unique puzzles that I hadn’t encountered in other rooms, which made it really fun. I would rate it on the easier side, as we escaped in 49 minutes without using any hints.
Alice [VR]
60Out - Melrose
Escape room
IRL
This was the first VR room I tried, and since I had never used a VR headset before, I found it a bit difficult and disorienting to navigate the space. The puzzles themselves weren’t particularly challenging; it felt more like a scavenger hunt than real puzzle-solving. However, it was an enjoyable experience, and the VR aspect made it different from traditional escape rooms. I was informed by the staff that this is the hardest VR room, but we found it relatively easy overall.
