The RelicRed Door Escape Room - FoxboroEscape roomIRLChallenging room especially for two people, but we had a good time. One on hand, the room makes good use of space, has an excellent theme and props, and we really liked the special relic mechanic in the room. The puzzles are open ended and felt like it was rewarding to complete the task at hand. On the other hand, there is more than one puzzle in this room that felt, well, a bit unpolished in that the there were multiple solutions that either were plausible or even correct, so it was up to interpretation which was the correct one and we just ended up brute forcing possible answers. This was frustrating at the time but overall we enjoyed the room nonetheless.
Masters of MagicGatlin's Escape Games - Pigeon ForgeEscape roomIRLWe did four rooms while visiting the area and this was our favorite! The theme, design, and experience are out of this world. There were a few moments where we were genuinely in awe at the experience. You will have fun with this one!
Curse Of The Kraken’s EyeGatlin's Escape Games - Pigeon ForgeEscape roomIRLThe theme and design of this room was top notch. We wanted to enjoy this room a lot more, but some of the puzzles left us unclear as to what to do and/or why certain solutions were considered not correct and our GM went silent on us at times so there were some frustrating moments. That said, the room was still fun and you could do a lot worse. We especially liked the 2 puzzles that required teamwork and skillful dexterity to complete.
Big Maw Bertha's Fussin' & A' Feudin' Moonshine Hill HootenannyGatlin's Escape Games - Downtown GatlinburgEscape roomIRLThis escape room was a lot of fun and a great break from super-serious themes in favor of a fun and comedic environment. Destiny was our GM and played her part very well, the jokes and call outs were my favorite part of the room. We were matched with another couple for this room, it should be known that these are not private rooms. Our teammates did not distract from the experience but 4 people is a lot for this room - probably 2 or 3 is the best amount. Overall, with the theme and puzzles this room gets high marks.
The Legend of AtlantisGatlin's Escape Games - Downtown GatlinburgEscape roomIRLMy wife and I really enjoyed this room and would probably put it in our top 10 for its theme and the sense of accomplishment we had when we escaped. It was a very challenging room for 2. The puzzles are not unfair or difficult, but a few of the puzzles are time consuming by design and the room seems like it was designed for at least 3-4. So when we did escape, we were pretty fired up! The theme is outstanding in this room. It should be noted that for this room, you will need one person who can crawl and one person who is not color blind.
The Haunted Manor: Phobia (Part 2)Break Free Escape GamesEscape roomIRLOur team of 3 decided to splurge, visiting each of the 3 scary rooms one after another. We had a blast, we were hoping for some scares and creepy sets and the rooms did not disappoint! Phobia is a good name for this room... it was creepy, maybe the creepiest one we did. There was one element that we thought was a little over the top, some of the effects do not stop until you solve certain puzzles and after a bit of time it became less creepy and borderline annoying. That said, some of the best scares were in this room! Def. worth a visit.
The Haunted Manor: Unholy (Part 1)Break Free Escape GamesEscape roomIRLOur team of 3 decided to splurge, visiting each of the 3 scary rooms one after another. We had a blast, we were hoping for some scares and creepy sets and the rooms did not disappoint! The theming, the scares, the puzzles, exactly what a good horror room should be. Enjoyed this one very much, we started with this one, the attention to detail and tech in the room was outstanding. Highly recommend!
The Haunted Manor: Trapped (Part 3)Break Free Escape GamesEscape roomIRLOur team of 3 decided to splurge, visiting each of the 3 scary rooms one after another. We had a blast, we were hoping for some scares and creepy sets and the rooms did not disappoint! This was the third and final room and it was a lot of fun. Some good scares! The puzzles are a little more straightforward in this room than the others, it helped the room flow well. Maybe our favorite.
The Sorcerer's CurseMystery Soup Escape Rooms [prev. Lock & Clue Escape Rooms]Escape roomIRLThis escape room deserves high praise for the set design and atmosphere, as well as the presentation of the puzzles. Our team of 4 was impressed with the experience itself and how the room unfolded. It did not go unnoticed that a world of sorcery would not use Master locks and the number of puzzled solved with magic was really fun. While I can imagine a few of the puzzles could give groups quite the challenge, we brought our A-game today and escaped quickly - our first room without a hint!
Doomsday Disaster: Bunker Tested, Apocalypse AppovedMystery Soup Escape Rooms [prev. Lock & Clue Escape Rooms]Escape roomIRLOur husband/wife team of two experienced this room today and we really enjoyed it. It has a different feel than most escape rooms because in this case you are trying to escape the world to get into the room, usually it's the opposite! Curt was our GM, he had a great knack of nudging us when we needed it, but not overdoing it with the hints. The theme and environment was perfect, highly recommend.
