Hallows HillWolf Escape Games-OnlineEscape roomVirtual Really impressed with the production value of these games from Wolf Escape!
Ministry of Lost Things: Lint ConditionPostCuriousEscape roomTabletopAbsolutely loved this one! There wasn’t a single “huh?” moment where a puzzle just didn’t make sense and yet it felt challenging throughout.
Taskmaster: The Escape RoomTaskmasterstoreEscape roomTabletopI had low expectations, so that may have made it seem better than it was, but I really enjoyed this! One puzzle had us stumped and we had to look at the answer, but I think there’s often one that doesn’t quite work for you in each game, so I’m always happy to give it a pass if it’s just the one.
Prison IslandEscape Room The GameEscape roomTabletopThere are three puzzles - the first and third were fairly easy, and the second one we thought just wasn’t a great puzzle.
The Emerald FlamePostCuriousEscape roomTabletopIt took us 6 hours, but that’s not an option! Absolutely loved it. Brilliant experience.
On Circus GroundsStudio StampEscape roomTabletopAbsolutely loved this game! It felt like a bit of a slow start but then once things began to fall into place it was impossible to put down. There was one moment where a translation issue led us down the wrong path for a while, but we worked out where had gone wrong by looking at the solution for that section. Particularly enjoyed how all characters were important and needed to piece together the story - it didn’t seem like there was unnecessary fluff.
EXIT: The Game - The Haunted Roller CoasterThames & KosmosEscape roomTabletopThis was cute. One puzzle in particular I thought was really cool, but the rest were fairly standard. I’m also finding the Exit hint system a little frustrating given the first hint just seems to be a rewording of the instructions given, so I can’t imagine it actually being a useful hint for anyone. But still, especially considering the price point, I had fun and I think it’s a worthwhile way to spend an hour!
The Marlowe HotelThe Cipher Room NewtownEscape roomIRLAnother excellent room at The Cipher Room! They really are top tier rooms. Loved it!
Rusty Lake HotelRusty LakeEscape roomVirtual My favourite Rusty Lake game so far in my journey! More linear and structured than previous games which I found really helpful while the puzzles were still challenging.
Cube Escape: The CaveRusty LakeEscape roomVirtual Not bad by any means, but the least enjoyable so far for me from Rusty Lake. I struggled a lot and had to consult a walkthrough a couple of times
Cube Escape: Case 23Rusty LakeEscape roomVirtual My favourite so far! This series took a little while for me to understand but now I feel completely hooked
The Past WithinRusty LakeEscape roomVirtual I’m a big fan of the Rusty Lake art style and the way it frames the unhinged content and, given co-operative play is my absolute favourite style of gaming, this was such a positive experience. We definitely got frustrated a few times but I have been recommending it to everyone!
Escape AcademyCoin Crew GamesEscape roomVirtual Was really impressed with this! I went in with low expectations because I assumed it would just be a low effort project attempting to cash in on escape room popularity but found it really enjoyable! Charming, entertaining, and a decent difficulty level
The Paper Labyrinth: The Power of Four Volume 1Ultimate QuestEscape roomTabletopAbsolutely the idea of this, but it didn’t really end up exciting us as you end up spending most of your time just having the other players explain what they have on their pages and copying it down on to yours. Then once you have all the pieces together the puzzles are fairly straightforward. I think there was only one puzzle where that didn’t work. That being said, we played as a team of two - each taking two players’ roles, so it would likely be more challenging with four players.
EXIT: The Game - The Lord of the Rings - Shadows Over Middle-earthThames & KosmosEscape roomTabletopMy husband received this game as a gift and I was a bit apprehensive about playing because I know very little about LOTR, but I quite enjoyed it. Didn’t need prior LOTR knowledge.
Lost in the ShuffleSpencer is PuzzlingEscape roomTabletopAbsolutely loved this! One of my favourite puzzle game experiences
Tasmanian TerrorCase Closed GamesEscape roomTabletopReally enjoy these whodunnit style games from Case Closed! They only take about an hour to play so there isn’t HEAPS of gameplay value for money, but the production value is great, and it’s always so nice to play a game set in Australia and/or New Zealand because it’s so rare and we’re so used to having to adapt puzzles to accomodate UK/US spelling and cultural elements
The InheritanceNarrow Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLA great non-linear experience where you can each be working on different tasks at the same time, or do them one at a time
La RébellionThe Cipher Room St PetersEscape roomIRLEasily in my top 3 of all time! Absolutely loved this experience. The set was fantastic and it was jam packed with puzzles, we barely stopped to take a breath and still didn’t QUITE get out in time (a few seconds over 😩) , so it felt like excellent value for money, we had a fantastic game master and overall it was such a great experience. It was our first at Cipher Room and I’m now wishlisting the rest!
Ex LibrisNext Level EscapeEscape roomIRLI did this room 2.5 years ago but have just come back to review it now because it has stayed in my mind as one of my favourites. The game master narration made it a little different to other rooms we’ve played before, the theming was lovely, and the puzzles really interesting and varied
