The TerminalWill To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLI thought the storyline was cute, but some of the puzzles were convoluted, not complex. I was very confused when I realized we won, because it felt like there was still more to do…
Operation Arctic Storm: The Final MeltdownThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLNot the hardest, but there’s plenty for a party of four to do without stepping on each other! Great interactivity and movement
At The Hop Ice Cream ShoppeDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLSuper creative and great addition to the D2E storybook! Loved the vibe and creative new way of utilizing mechanical puzzles. The soundtrack can’t be beat.
The AntidoteMonkey Mind Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLSingle-room games aren’t my favorite, but this was an ideal room for my sister and her kids to play as their first escape room. Creative but not a brain buster, which is what I lean more towards. Would definitely try another room from them!
Bros for Life: Fraternity HeistThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLWildly enjoyable theme with super crafty and creative puzzles! Our GM was super helpful and even though we finished the room faster than we would have expected, I had a TON of fun. Plenty of stuff for a party of 3 to separate and work on without stepping on each other’s toes!
Rest Easy Motel - CLOSEDEscape Artists - SanfordEscape roomIRLThis was a great room with some really creative, complex puzzles! The downside of the experience was a less than great GM…they gave us the same hint 3 times to a puzzle we had already solved, and considering that was during the final 5 minutes of play, it really increased our stress and kinda ruined our experience. Everyone has off days, though, and I still look forward to returning to play other rooms.
Doctor Lycan - CLOSEDA Harrowing Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLI played this about a year ago or more, so I am a little fuzzy on the details, but I can remember the room making no sense. The GM wasn’t particularly helpful and there were some mechanics of the game that just weren’t working!
The Seventh RoomDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLSo…this was my first D2E room and I’m almost upset that this was my foray into the story of the Tillman family. This feels like their piece de resistance and I should have worked my way up through the other rooms to this one. That being said…wowie zowie! Complex, intricate, beautiful, and terrifying! There are really some mega intense moments and the amount and complexity of the puzzles almost makes me feel that this game can be replayed without ruining the fun. I’d love to replay any one of the D2E rooms, but especially this one!
DreamEscape Artists - OrlandoEscape roomIRLTo be fair, I think the negative review is mostly our party’s fault, but I really can’t objectively review the game itself. We were allowed to book with a party one greater than the max amount and it is NOT recommended. There was not enough to do, everyone was yelling over each other and stepping on each other’s toes. The puzzles, I think, were clever, but, again I can’t separate from my experience with the poorly planned party. Rating the details of the game as thumbs up, but overall, mehhh… There should be a ‘meh’ option.
The Video StoreDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLGod this room makes me yearn for the good ol’ days of video stores. This room pulled on all my heart strings since i grew up in the area it takes place in and spent many many years as a clerk of both regional and national video store chains. The puzzles were so clever and had some really creative mechanics. I want to play this again and again!
The ArchiveDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLLove love love the atmosphere and detail of this room! I felt completely disarmed upon walking in to the first chamber and the thrill just kept building. Highly recommended for 4 players.
Ninja - CLOSEDEscape Artists - OrlandoEscape roomIRLWildly clever room! I loved the different puzzles in this room and felt that there was plenty to do with a party of four. Highly recommended!
The AsylumDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLI first heard about this room from my normal gamer crew when we all went into The Seventh Room, and I was chomping at the bit to get in there. In part, because I heard that the intro video was filmed at the same abandoned asylum that I used to explore when I was in college! So it already had won me over re: storyline and DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Every aspect of this room was creative and challenging. There are for sure jump scares, so be prepared. In particular, I loved the middle room and the ability to play dress up!
The RingmasterDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLI love the underlying story being told within most of the D2E rooms. If you’ve enjoyed any one of their rooms, you’ve got to play them all to get the bigger picture. It’s woven into these rooms beautifully and The Ringmaster is no exception. Have played another room with a similar theme at a different company and it doesn’t even compare. I feel like D2E has set the bar too high for other companies. Gauntlet thrown
The Paper Company - CLOSEDDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLWhile I would say this is probably my least favorite at D2E, I would consider that more a statement of the other games than this room particularly lacking anything. It’s a single-room game, which aren’t my favorite, but the puzzles are wildly clever and the theme is instantly recognizable.
Baldwin ManorEscape Artists - OrlandoEscape roomIRLGreat blend of mechanical and high tech features! We had some issues with getting a clue from the GM towards the end of the game, but overall really clever!
Strange MagicMind MastersEscape roomIRLSingle-room game with a ton of tech involved. I prefer more standard escape rooms, with multi-room, lock & logic based, but this was a really good experience!
