The Escape Game
Escape room

Best room we have done so far. The puzzles were engaging, the GM was enthusiastic, and the theme was nostalgic. BIG NEGATIVE part of The Escape Game rooms is the possibility of being merged eith another group to fill up the “max” amount of players, but their assumed max capacity is too high.

The linear format of the game is something I don’t think I enjoy as much as a non-linear room, but it was still enjoyable. Some puzzles were a bit too easy. Some of the light features in the room did not trigger properly, so we were stuck trying to figure out what to do next. The GM tried to fix it, but the issue persisted. We eventually figured out what to do after a few minutes, but the malfunction pulled us out of the immersive experience and made us doubt the functionality of the rest of the room. The effects were great and some of the puzzles were interesting. A great room for 4-5 people.

The theming was interesting and the visuals on the screen were well done. It was our last room of the night and we were tired, so we overlooked some of the puzzles that should have been easier to solve. Great game masters from The Escape Games, as usual.

Most of the puzzles were easy to figure out, but still interesting. The triggers were fun to activate. Great game masters from The Escape Games, as usual.

The atmosphere was fine and the GM was very nice, but I didn’t enjoy the darkness. The first entire section was only illuminated with a dim light that focused on the part of the room that you needed to be at and one lantern for the group. If you had more than two people, the rest of your group would be standing in darkness. Certain triggers were remote-activated and not technological or mechanical. Large portions of the room were not utilized. Maybe we’ve been spoiled by rooms with better productions, but this room was not worth what they were asking for. Weekdays (M-Th) are $49/person for 2 people and $42/person for 3+ people. Weekends (F-Sun) are $52/person for 2 people and $45/person for 3+ people.

Positive and enthusiastic GM with clear hints when requested (and simple nudges when something felt stuck, literally). Great theming and immersion. Entertaining and satisfying puzzles, lights, and sounds. Enough space to explore the room, but would not recommend more than 5-6 people (it was comfortable with 4). We had a pleasant conversation with the GM afterwards about how we navigated through the puzzles and what we did well on. We were pleased with our experience and booked the next room right after for another night.

Brain fart. We got stuck in the first room longer than we should have with some simple things that we overlooked. The room was fun to solve. We accidentally skipped through one of the puzzles because it was kind of easy to deduce one of the codes without doing the work to find it the correct way. Great game masters from The Escape Games, as usual.

Some puzzles didn’t make sense. Too many red herrings. GM’s attention was lacking and his enthusiasm was nonexistent. Bland, non-immersive story. Not entertaining. Last portion of the experience is only for 1-2 people to work on.

They trapped me in a small cage that was too short to sit in for at least 15 minutes.
