Like most of the small 1 hour HaK experiences i have played this box is a little too light on the information at times and leaves you making some educated deductions rather than giving you concrete information, but overall a fun little evening experience, worth your time if you can find a cheap copy.

This was a decent murder mystery but was on the light side for actual mystery and puzzles. Definitely only except 90 minutes of gameplay max.

As far as Exit Games go this is one of the better ones I’ve done. Not concerned with a story no one actually cares about its just a box ham packed with 10-ish puzzles most of which feel fresh to the format. Like many exit games this one is a one time play. Too much destruction happens to expect a second play from this box.

All of the puzzles in this game felt intuitive and satisfying. Other Unlock games have had moments of frustration because of the wild solution to the puzzles. The app wasn’t as interactive as some of their other experiences, but I don’t actually think thats a negative.

This hunt a killer box struggles due to its reliance on an online website to solve all of the puzzles. I personally prefer tabletop experiences that stay completely offline. We made an entire dinner party based around this game which was fun for friends to gather around. There is a lot of reading, which is expected, but be prepared for that eventuality. Overall the game was middling, but the time spent with people as a result of the game was lovely.

One of the best parts of this exit game is you dont have to destroy this one, so it can be passed along to others. There is one destructive puzzle that can be done without the destruction. The mini puzzles were cute and fun. Enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

As a major LotR nerd I can safely say they put too much effort in writing a story that went along with the books & movies and not enough time making fun puzzles set in Middle Earth. It was alright, but I basically read a short novel to play this game.

A surprisingly decent at home “puzzle” game. This does require the internet, and of the 9 puzzles about half were dead simple, but at the price point I’m relatively pleased with the experience.

Way to simple of an experience if you have any experience in puzzles. It feels like a whiplash from the Starline Express game this team put together that was way too obtuse at times. Overall I cant recommend this over other at home escape experiences like The Exit Games.

Overall I liked the layout of this experience and the art design was done very well. However, some of puzzles were way to easy, then other puzzles were way to hard. Hardly any felt satisfying to complete. You are essentially paying for 9 puzzles and a half baked story that wouldn’t pass a first year creative writing class, so thats why Im giving it a thumbs down.

A really fun little mystery to solve with a few friends in an hour or so. Obviously bonus points to it if you’re a fan of Nancy Drew. Some of the components were very cheap and a lock became unable to be reused. You always hope these games can be replayed so you can pass it on to someone else to enjoy,
